There have been plenty of great first person StarWars games. Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Republic Commando, Star Wars: Battlefront, etc. The FPS genre is id's bread and butter.

Having said that, Doom is a very hot property once again and I'd greatly prefer id make another Doom or revisit one of their other IPs.

Failing that, revive one of Microsoft's many neglected IPs. StarWars has enough game entries to last a lifetime.
