Nintendo Plans On Releasing At Least 2-3 Mobile Games Annually
Published By News Desk at February 2, 2017 07:25 amFire Emblem Heroes will be releasing today on Android and iOS devices
Nintendo Co., Ltd's (ADR) (OTCMKTS:NTDOY) President Tatsumi Kimishima said that the company is looking forward to releasing around two or three mobile games every year, as reported by Reuters. No information has yet been released on whether the company will be making the mobile games by itself or in collaboration with DeNa—Nintendo’s mobile game partner in 2015.

Nintendo claimed to be releasing at least five applications on smartphones by the end of March 2017. So far, only Miitomo and Super Mario Run have been released, whereas Fire Emblem Heroes will be releasing today. Another game that the company is looking forward to releasing, called Animal Crossing, has been delayed until April. Until now, no major news has been revealed regarding the game and whether it will actually be released before May.

Mr. Kimishima stated:" We would like to utilize smart devices as a platform to reach the maximum number of consumers with our IP. It is a prerequisite that the smart-device business be profitable on its own. We also aim to generate synergy with our dedicated video game systems business to maximize the potential of Nintendo's overall business strategies." This clearly means that the company has witnessed immense growth in the smartphone sector, and wants to make full use of it.

In other related news, Fire Emblem Heroes will be launching worldwide today on both iOS and Android devices. It is a strategy game and will play out the same way any other Fire Emblem game does. The only issue players will come across with Fire Emblem Heroes is that it will require a constant internet connection. This is simply because Nintendo has concerns with piracy and does not want their game to be hacked. This is also the same reason why Super Mario Run requires a stable internet connection.

In many years. People will look back on these moments as the first steps to no more handhelds...and possibly Nintendo as a third party.
