Figured there should be a general discussion thread for the few of us that own the system or will soon. Plan on picking one up tomorrow night maybe. My childhood feels are coming alive.

Pick up 'The Wonderful 101', bend yourself to its gameplay style and enjoy.

ENJOY!

It's about time a Wii U specific thread was made. Don't know why none of us didn't make one sooner than later. I've only played two kiosk demos on the Wii U. ZombiU and Rayman Legends. I can safely say that Rayman Legends was amazing. Great stuff, uses the tablet to perfection, highly recommend it. ZombiU was alright to be perfectly honest. I just didn't get into as I thought I would, but to be fair, I'm a little tired of most zombie games unless they bring something original (Stubbs the Zombie) or completely wacky (Dead Rising 3, Plants vs Zombies).

I really do want one. This is just too expensive a time of year though. By the time Smash and Kart come out though I may take the plunge.

Nice. I've been wanting to play Rayman but never got to it on the other consoles. It's on the list to get for the Wii U though.

Got the Wii U I ordered today, however have to wait a bit longer for the games to arrive (tho could try Nintendo Land).

Anyway here are pictures of the Wii U (taken with mobile phone cam) , maybe will add some more when I got the games (and hopefully will have some better quality on pictures then):

Wii U and iPad Are Most Talked About Gifts on Twitter, Says Research Firm
Rakuten says their internal research reveals more interest in the Wii U this holiday season than its competitors.

Online merchant Rakuten has boldly predicted that the Wii U will be a more popular gift for children this Christmas than the
PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

The company has based its prediction on an observed 75% spike in sales of the system in October as well as internal social media research that pairs Nintendo’s console with Apple’s iPad as the most talked about gifts for Christmas on Twitter.

The Wii U has been receiving its share of positive coverage recently; perhaps this claim is yet another sign of a brighter future for the struggling console.

One would be wise to take this analysis with a grain of salt, however, as every indication suggests heavy competition from both Microsoft and Sony’s new consoles. The PS4 managed to outsell the Wii U’s lifetime sales in the UK less than 48 hours.

It has been done. Just bought the Mario bundle console. Will probably stick with just those two games for a while as I work on my PS3 backlog. Hopefully some good deals on Zelda and what not around Christmas.

I'm considering getting Wii U over ps4 if I can get a good deal, especially for the virtual console aspect and the games that are coming. I keep asking my neighbor to play his ps4 and he's bored to tears with it already. Maybe wait til more of the 2014 games hit and just have everything.

Yea I love the PS4 but after playing through Killzone I've gone back to PS3 and now Wii U to play games. Knack looks good but I will wait on it. NFS I'm probably just going to trade in as higher levels just piss me off.

Its knack but better
So sorry - ignore this comment. The Wonderful 101 has nothing to do with Knack. What kind of insane kind of comparison is that?

Seriously.. Seriously. Seriously, where is that review I wrote.. lol

I have yet to play Legends, but Rayman Origins was spectacular. That was the last video game I got in to, nothing recently has really interested me, though this new Mario looks like great fun.

Negative, but I know its not in the same genre as The Wonderful 101. Wonderful 101 is in the same category as Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, God of War (sigh) and Ninja Gaiden. Action/Fighting, it isn't a retro platformer painted in HD.

Now I return your question. Have you played The Wonderful 101?

I played both demo's and they are very similar with 101 being the better of the 2.

I was hyped for the new Rayman until they delayed it to put it on PS360.

I mean like at the 11th hour they announce a delay. I just never got around to buying it. I'll get it when the price drops to around $20.
