Looking at the remake of Abes Oddyssey got me looking up old tracks to the other oddworld games then that got me on older games (For my time) in general and I naturally ended up crying over what they did to the KOTOR series after listening to this.

It was about 11 years ago I played that game. Lotsa weird feelings being brought up. Passage of time and all that noise. But more to the point: VIDEO GAME MUSIC, LETS SEE THE SH!T THAT STUCK WITH YA

When I played MYST, I thought that game was the sh:t at the time. The opening music and dialogue just seemed so cinematic to me at the time and made me feel I was entering a whole different kind of game experience.

This was a different game experience navigating point and click mind-bender puzzles and I did eventually beat this mofo.

As far as nostalgic music goes I could list the entire Chrono Trigger OST and be ok. But I'll just list my favorite tracks.

The under sea Palace

Schala's Theme

To Far Away Times Ending Theme Soundtrack

Oh man, when I first heard this....

Then this!

Why is it so rare to get those OSTs that are not some contrived movie orchestral arrangement that just fades into the background rather than enhances it! Thank God we got-

You knew it was coming ;)

Another Soundtrack that was just amazing to me was Virtua fighter. It had a ton of great songs that just made it exciting to play. I can still hear their voices mixing in, lol "I WIINN" or Lau's Laughter! Ooh I get nostalgia tingles :D

Jackey theme. Saturn, not the "OST"

Kage Maru!

Wolfe theme!

Wow, you have to go to the Saturn version, as the "OST" versions aren't as good, imo. Example, here is the OST

Awful.

If Bonnie Tyler was Japanese and did the soundtrack for a Cave shoot em up.

What a great game as well.

The Bad Company theme was awesome and had a ton of Character. Its sequel was pretty generic though.

I can't remember most of the rest of the soundtrack, but his moment will always stick in my memory

It still boggles my mind how much R* got out of those last gen machines :surprise:

Aww yeah, who doesn't immediately recognize what game this goes to?

And of course

Some newer games would be Skyrim and the Redone Killer Instinct Theme, which really gets me in the mood, lol.

damn froz you keepin it alive.

There's definitely something about the music in japanese games of that time.

Nostalgia.

In game music was incredible as well. Like a mix of Depeche Mode and Bronski Beat

It's that awesome, cheesy 80s Rock Guitar, baby! I can just hear the big hair and shoulder pads!

Lol, this reminds me of the music in Guardian Heroes! Dat saxophone!

I remember all the Playstation Fanboys bragging about the transparency on the characters uniforms in Toshinden. It was the "Virtua Fighter killer", Lol, Polygons INSIDE Polygons! Poor 'ol Saturn couldn't do "transparency"- They had to use a kind of hatching techinique. Oh, some things never change.

I played SO MUCH SOCOM 1 and SOCOM 2, but the SOCOM 2 online menu music will always have a special place in my heart as will SOCOM 1 and 2 games. There have been numerous occasions where we would play all night long and I would wake up in the morning with this music playing lol. Great times for real. SOCOM 1 and 2 remain the only games I ever played competitively at a serious level but could also have extremely casual times as well. SOCOM 1 and 2 were the best online games for me and no one will never change my mind from that opinion.
