I don't know if it flopped. It sold 1 million copies in 4 months. The first game has only sold roughly 3 million copies in 4 years. Now compared to the other big games released this year, its disappointing but relative to the series, its off to a very good start.

Square Enix has a weird relationship with all the console makers. I know Embracer group is poorly managed but Square Enix's release decision/priority is top 5 of mismanagement.

I haven't picked it up yet, ( Onslaught of killer games this year) but I'm leaning toward the xbox release because it looks to be a play anywhere title.

They said it flopped.

Might have sold more if they didn't make it exclusive to a console they didn't even release the first game on.
