Great Weapon Fighter
Fighter_greatweapon.png

This class relies on brute strength alone to overcome the enemies. They are warriors who sacrifice shields in favor of large two-handed weapons. While mainly being an offensive class, Great Weapon Fighters still have considerable defense by carrying scale armour.

Control Wizard
Wizard_control.png

Control Wizards primarily focus on controlling the battlefield and dealing damage to a large number of creatures simultaneously. Because of the wizard's role as a controller, they possess more crowd control options than any other class. Their ability to deal high amounts of damage gives them the secondary role of striker. They wield a magical orb and are capable of unleashing torrents of damage on enemy parties.

Trickster Rogue
Rogue_trickster.png

Unlike the other five classes, the rogue has two primary paths of focus, both of which are equally viable. The first is the stealth rogue, able to maintain stealth permanently. This path isn't as good at DPS, but can often save a whole dungeon run by soloing the final boss for the last little bit. The second is the combat rogue, who's all about the damage output. This combat rogue is usually preferred in parties, but in exchange, if something goes wrong, the combat rogue will go down with the rest of the party.

Guardian Fighter
Fighter_guardian.png

A fighter is a class with martial origin and excels in primary role of a Defender. The Guardian Fighter is a build of Fighter which uses tactics and placement while fighting the enemy intelligently. Guardian Fighter has a secondary role of a leader and is a warrior who fights with a shield and heavy armor, thus able to fight with a high degree of survivability and control the battle around him or her. A Guardian Fighter's high Hit Points and abilities make it acceptable for crowd control roles and ideal for boss tanking. Placement and tactics are very important for a guardian fighter. Guardian Fighters are proficient in Plate armor.

Devoted Cleric
Cleric_devoted.png

Devoted Clerics primarily focus on healing and buffing allies. Because of the cleric's role as a leader, they possess more healing than any other class. Clerics can also grant stat boosts, temporary hit points, and other buffs to themselves and their allies. Their ability to snare and push opponents gives them the secondary role of controller. They wield holy symbols and are capable of turning the tide of any battle with a single spell. The cleric wears chain armor.

Hunter Ranger
Hunter_ranger.png

The Hunter Ranger is Neverwinter's sixth class, introduced with the Shadowmantlemodule. Hunter Rangers are strikers who switch between melee and ranged attacks using the Tab key. The ability to switch between melee and ranged attacks is gained upon reaching 10th level. The Hunter Ranger's dodge mechanic, also known as a shift, is of shorter distance than the Cleric's, Rogue's, or Wizard's, but drains less stamina.

Scourge Warlock
Class_Icon_Player_Scourge_Selected.png

Warlocks can fill one of three roles in a group. They can dedicate themselves to the dark arts and decimate their foes, either by dealing necrotic damage and cursing foes or by summoning their soul puppet to augment their damage. Additionally Warlocks can support their allies by tearing the souls from their foes to heal and empower their allies.

I hope that I get in; I signed up a few days ago. I'm looking forward to this.

I've heard of this but don't really know what it is. Anyone care to summarise it for me?

If it's anything like the pc game......prepare to be disappointed.

Speak for your self, this game is great on PC. If anything I pick this over guild wars 2 and final fantasy xiv.

I tried playing it, and I hate to use the word...but it felt ghetto. Playing Neverwinter just made me miss playing Neverwinter Nights.

GW2 sucked as well, never played FF, so I can't comment.

Well, historically, you haven't ever had particularly good taste when it comes to games anyways. So there's that.

Or maybe it's just a mediocre game (as evidenced by user metacric scores)?

It's a F2P game with all of the ills of a game that follows the F2P model.

listen i am ok with you not to crazy with this title, but why even come here to say anything like that before the beta comes out?
Also this f2p game is not Pay to Win, I put many hours in this game and its about time. if you are crafting a weapon and its going to take 11 hours, you can rush your weapons with a cost.

I never once had to drop money into the game because the founder pack which that is something I wanted because it was a good sale at the time.

So keep in mind to complain about a game that is giving free, I think to put in $10 is ok compare to buy a game and then go into a sub every month.

This is by far my most played MMO game in a long time and the combat is fun.

Plus just try the beta and see the new updates from the last time you played because this game is made from the people did City of Heros.

Why not? It's a discussion forum. I'm willing to bet my left nut that many console gamers will be disappointed in this game.

I'll give it a try again...but I won't get my expectations too high....I'm not crazy about City of Heros either.

I'm re-downloading now, I'll give it a try again.

I am more than capable of making that judgment myself. I don't particularly give a damn about metacritic scores, especially considering the world is full of "vocal" people with either extremely bad taste or lacking intelligence altogether.

you might be right but thats your taste.

Never played any of the games but I'll give it a try. If you enjoyed GW2 but like this more then I'm up for trying it.

This is not how I want this thread start. I can understand Qbert have his own personal opinion and I am fine with that but I don't want to go 3 pages about why he didn't like the PC version

I am excited to check this out. Also ESO is coming too. Great time for console gamers!!
Indeed. I liked it on PC a lot, so this will be a nice change to get it on console.

Almost like playing an explosion fest twitch shooter running on a modified quake engine from 1983, but 1/20 the budget.

Ugh, wasted my time downloading this turd. Game just feels like a amateurish attempt at an MMO.

I don't know, maybe "for me", after having played several paid MMOs for over a decade, these types of free games just don't do it for me.

I won't ruin the thread, I just really wanted to say that I felt many here would be disappointed. I won't say anymore.

At least try the beta, I'm fine afterwards if you need to tell if the game is still "Ghetto"

The game on PC is great IMO, so no disappointment here.
