Official Project Cars 2 Thread

Looks good so far. I was hoping for actual rally racing instead of rallycross...unless I missed it somewhere.

Looks stunning IMO! I still play the first one on PC and have always enjoyed it. Looks like rally racing and the full gamut of weather conditions in this installment. Can't wait!

Looks amazing! :D
I am looking forward to playing the first one when it comes up on XBL later this month. Competition for the Win! It looks like Scorpio is coming at the right time for those of us that prefer Console play :)

I wouldn't rule it out just yet, I mean, it's just one trailer, and I doubt it shows everything.

Looks great, yes. I just hope they don't lose focus on what makes it a great game....and it was obviously never graphics..it was the realism. BTW, most of that trailer of course look good because it was mostly non-gameplay.

Have you tried the new Dirt Rally? Supposedly that is a rally sim more so than previous Dirt games. Haven't tried it personally but have always wanted to. I think Dirt 4 is supposed to have both sim and arcade options and coming out in June, so might be worth holding off for that one.

Yes sir. You can get it for under $40 at most stores that still have it. I've seen several sales for $30 on PSN as well.

Will see what I think of the series later this month.

Best racing game this gen. Well for me it is. Note: If you played Dirt 3, don't expect to jump right in and start owning...Dirt Rally is like the Dark Souls of racing game.

Looks good. Going to get my feet wet with Project Cars this month since it's free. If i like it, then i'll get excited for this one.

It's the only racing game I've actually liked on either system this gen.

Graphics mean very little in PC 2, if the A.I is still atrocious, has huge controls issues again, and has pretty poor performance again.

So, for me, this will not be a day 1 buy like the first. I am taking a firm wait and see approuch.

Well im going to see if Project Cars is good because Forza 6 and Forza Horizon 3 is king.

Im just a little worry about the AI vs the cloud version of the players way of playing.

Im all for a chance.

One thing I like about Project Cars, is that the title gives you a hint about what the game is about.

Unlike Forza. Like what's that about? Sounds like a lubricant.

Gran Turismo? Nobody ACTUALLY wants to be associated with Clint Eastwood.

Drive club? Something about golf.

Automobili Lamborghini? Something about a pasta machine.

"You know how every once in a while you come across somebody you shouldn't f*** with? That's me"

I hear you on forza. I mean Forza means force, so it is Force Motorsport...lol. But pretty sure the motorsport part does what forza doesn't.

Yeah, I'm never sober enough to read the full title. You have me there. :p

I went to a car show for my brother's bucks weekend once. It was f***ing hell.

Cars kept doing skids and making smoke that stank, the crowds were horrible, the wine selection was rubbish, and I'm pretty sure hundreds of people got impregnated in the car park. Not only that, but Grindr was showing up blank.

The Gran Prix is fabulous though. Ive been 4 times, and never once saw a car. I got to meet a bunch of drivers I didn't give a s*** about, but I got to have my photo with Charlize Theron while toasting with Moet.

Much more to my liking!

Finally a simrracer on console following iracing's example on getting rid of the idiiot racers just looking to ruin an online race.

Essentially it is a ranking system that monitors how you drive and applies things like clean racing, quitting matches, ramming, driving the wrong way, etc to you rank and then you go up and down in rank.

This system works amazingly well in iracing and doesn't take long to get honst drivers away from the idiots. Also makes each race far more enjoyable.

Might skip Forza 7 this year and just get Pcars 2, cause it is making all the right moves right now.

Racepro 07 on Xbox 360 had it right as well.

I may give this a second look based on this interview. If they indeed have fixed the controller issue ( would love a wheel, but I have zero interest in being stabbed by my wife after we get the bill!), it will make it much more attractive.

Love the stuff he talks about. Especially the part about how if it's frustrating to drive, then they've done something wrong. I hate these so-called sims where I can't even keep the dang car on the road (PCars 1). I've been driving for a long time, and they aren't communicating the game right if I can lose control so easily. You shouldn't have to train yourself on how to play that particular game when you have been doing said thing for 22 years. It's one of the things I love about Forza.

I really dig how he talks about the things they simulate as far as the environment as well. My only issue is my distaste for the first game. I hope they have a demo.

Sort of agree.

but what and how you drive in real life isn't really representive of what these games are trying to simulate...which is motorsport. Well, unless you drive race cars or high powered super cars to their limits on a daily basis.

Having said that, the gamepad issues in PC1 were atrocious. Even the most hardcore of PC sims like iracing did a far better job.

What I'm getting at is that a game like Forza communicates well enough to me that, say, im going to fast, or that my tires are slipping, that sort of thing.

Race cars are a different animal, but it's not alien, and there are tons of easily understable inputs to the driver. I'm not talking about nuances like the sweet spot in the clutch, or how to specifically handle a given cars torque. I'm talking about spinning put on the first turn on SPA and having a nightmare time getting back on the road.

There has to be an intermediary in the system that makes it work for the player because you'd never have that kind of trouble yourself.
