What I'm getting at is that a game like Forza communicates well enough to me that, say, im going to fast, or that my tires are slipping, that sort of thing.
Race cars are a different animal, but it's not alien, and there are tons of easily understable inputs to the driver. I'm not talking about nuances like the sweet spot in the clutch, or how to specifically handle a given cars torque. I'm talking about spinning put on the first turn on SPA and having a nightmare time getting back on the road.
There has to be an intermediary in the system that makes it work for the player because you'd never have that kind of trouble yourself.
Alien, no. But gamepad is not even close to being similar tto real world inputs. There is a learning curve and that curve gets bigger further up the power tree you go.
Forza isn't a balls to the wall racing sim, it is pegged back a little...a good showcase of that is in the weight transfer that is far more forgiving.
Also, alot of people make the mistake of turning everything off in Pcars when they shouldn't. Things like GT3 and Le Mans cars actually have assists and for a reason.
But again, the terrible state of gamepad input in the game certainly didn't help.
