Sony's press conference will take place on October 27 at 5 PM UK time (9 AM PST).

Although Sony has not confirmed exactly what it will show at Paris Games Week, LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule is expected to show off more its latest project, Dreams, which originally made its debut at E3 2015.

Fans have speculated that Quantic Dream, the studio behind Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, may also show off its new game at the event, as little has been heard of what the studio has been doing recently.

Other potential points of discussion at the event include Project Morpheus, the company's VR headset. On March 9, 2015, PlayStation's president of worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida said pricing for the Project Morpheus headset would be announced at E3. Announcements were not, however, made, so it may be that Sony is planning to talk about Morpheus at Paris Games Week.

More speculation on some of what we might see:

How low can you go?

Alright, this author's been banging on about this one since the beginning of time – but we really do think that a price drop is coming for the PS4. Yes, the system's selling faster than moustache wax at a hipster convention, but Sony would be stupid to let the momentum drop off before giving it another shot in the arm. If you look at the PlayStation 2, it dropped the price right around this point in the generation, and it opened up the device to a much more mainstream audience as a consequence. And with guaranteed money spinners such asPlayStation Plus now on its side, it's not like it's going to feel the hit on the hardware. Plus, if you factor in the timing of Paris Games Week – which is right before the holiday shopping season starts in earnest – and the fact that the potentially expensive Project Morpheus is right around the corner, it makes too much sense.

A very Quantic Dream

Pub quiz time: which studio with an extremely close relationship with Sony Computer Entertainment is based in Paris? Easy-peasy, it's Quantic Dream. We've known ever since the release of Beyond: Two Souls that the developer is working on a PS4 game – in fact, Ellen Page's bonkers escapade was built upon a basic version of its new-gen engine – so it seems roughly the right time for us to learn more about what it's up to.

Born to be WiLD

Want to know another coincidence? Wild Sheep Studio, the indie team formed by Rayman maker Michel Ancel, is also based in France. It's been over a year since we last heard anything about WiLD, the PS4 exclusive that puts you in control of various animals. We know that the title – which won our best of show award at Gamescom 2014 – is still in development, because the developer's hiring on its website. Moreover, recent rumours suggested that the team behind Beyond Good & Evil 2 had moved on from Ubisoft to other things, which we very much suspect to be this. We doubt that it'll be out anytime soon, but Sony's not in the habit of burying promising projects, so we have to imagine that it will be at Paris Games Week.

My predictions...

1. Dreams
2. GT7
3. Uncharted 4 multi player beta
4. Street Fighter 5 (Laura revealed)
5. Sony Bend's New IP?!
6. Rime (trailer + release date)
7. Quantic Dream's new IP
8. Crash Bandicoot?! (From a logical standpoint he may be in Dreams or a new remaster/remake)

Another press conference huh? I guess when you've got as many games to show as Sony does, the show just never ends.

Another press conference huh? I guess when you've got as many games to show as Sony does, the show just never ends.

Back when Gamescom was happening, Sony said they were skipping because it fell too close on the heels of E3, and they pointed to this show (PGW) as a place where they would show games later in the year. I wouldn't expect blockbuster announcements, but hopefully there will be a couple of nice showings.

GT 7? I'm really interested in seeing more of Dreams. I'd also rather see a new Jack and Daxter than a Crash Bandicoot.

Please don't show old footage!

Hmm well this conference is a bit harder to predict than TGS and with PSX being so close you'd expect Sony to save some good announcements there. Anyway I remember an insider on GAF saying it will be better than E3 in terms of first party so I will be ballsy and say:

Quantic Dream's Singularity - It has be here, they are based in Paris,France and it is about time they announced something.
Level 5's JRPG or Japan Studio's JRPG - Both makes sense as both are orientated towards a a worldwide audience if going by what insiders have said and France loves their JRPG's and japanese games and I can't think of a better market than Europe where it is literally the most neutral towards genres and games; it likes all of them.
New Horizon Zero Dawn trailer showing more of the world and story.
New Last Guardian trailer showing that there is more to the game than just that one demoed level.
RIME trailer and release date.
Update on WILD
Dreams with a thorough showcase of the game - Media Molecule have already said this will be where they show a lot more of the game
Gran Turismo 7 - Europe is undoubtedly the biggest market for this game with 50% over the games sales emanating from this region. It is time for Sony's biggest I.P to be announced.
Footage of Farcry Primal

I just got a feeling Ubisoft is going throw Sony something for this conference, not exclusive but like the announcement of something like Watch Dogs 2 as they are based in France.

I think Sony Bend's new I.P will be saved for PSX just like God of War 4/reboot.

Quantic Dream and WiLD would be good bets. I'd love to see something more of Rime -- haven't heard anything about it for a long time.

Sounds good -- sure hope so -- but it's just a rumor at this point, as it's coming from Tidux, one of those "insiders" with a variable track record.

Speaking of interactive drama.... Are we going to hear from our friends at Quantic Dream? We're all off to Paris soon.

Shuhei Yoshida: Well, they're based in Paris, so... They're great developers, and we're excited to continue to work with them, so....

Its happening

Nier 2 is also going to be there.

"A press release from the publisher lists the new Nier, which it first unveiled at E3 2015 in June, under the temporary name Nier: New Project. More information regarding the game will come from a presentation hosted by its producer Yosuke Saito (Dragon Quest X) and director Yoko Taro (Drakengard)."

Nier 2 isn't the real name. "There's a word in the subtitle that plays a vital role, and would give away some of the game's [concept]." He then confirmed that an announcement in the fall would reveal the full name of the new Nier project."

FFXV will have a playable demo, which is new. I find myself somewhat interested in the game, although I'm not much of a FF fan. I'm more interested in Nier 2.

Also, there will be an on-stage demo of Deus Ex: HR.

Makes sense for Square Enix to have a big presence at PGW as the French love Japanese games.

What gets me so excited about this conference is that ANYTHING could be shown really. Whereas in E3 you need big bombastic games and stuff like COD and in TGS it's basically all Japanese games this conference could have those two and European games too. They could show Sony Bend's I.P or Japan Studio or Level 5's RPG just as easily as showing a smaller artistic game like RIME. This is what makes it so hard to predict. Generally there is an idea of what will be shown in conferences and though you could refer to their Gamescom conferences and they were also hard to predict. I just have a hunch with it being in France, Square Enix being in the event in a big way and France being known to being a big buyer of Japanese games that their must be a big Japanese games to be announced from Sony or Square Enix.

Next Tuesday, 27th October 2015, from 4.45pm GMT/5.45pm CET, we’ll be drawing back the curtains on the inaugural Paris Games Week PlayStation Press Conference. In front of gathered media at the iconic La Grande Arche de la Défense, we’ll be announcing new games and offering some exciting updates on previously announced titles.

Please note, much like E3 is targeted to the US audience and Tokyo Game Show is targeted at Japan, Paris Games Week is primarily aimed at European gamers — keep that in mind as you watch. Not everything mentioned or shown in the presentation will necessarily apply to gamers in the United States.

Very interesting to see which devs have tweeted and RTed stuff about PGW. Media Molecule have clearly, talking about showing Dreams. Housemarque have but more interestingly Japan Studio have RTed and the developer of GR2 RTed it too which makes me think we are going to see more of Gravity Rush 2. Driveclub's director also said fans of DC should watch the stream.Sadly Guerilla haven't tweeted anything about but actually tweeted about PSX so it seems like Horizon will be shown again at PSX now PGW.
