I got this from Gamefly yesterday nd the game just throws you in, no tutorial and doesnt explain anything. What are these card packs I can buy? Are they one time use?
micro transactions are purely optional, but that isn't the point. the point is - why would anyone thank EA for adding f***ing microtransaction to unlock content in a game people paid retail money for. they are solving a problem that exist because EA put it there in the first place. if they want my thanks, then fix it so I don't have to invest 10,000 hrs in the game to unlock the characters and weapons that are worth a damn. or just call it for what it is, make it f2p and give everyone who purchased the game a bunch of in-game currency credits for the retail money they already spent.
not saying it is a bad game. it is quite fun, but the model it is built on - the idea that anyone would thank EA for offering, at a nominal fee, to remove the huge c**k they rammed up our collective in asses in the first place, is a bit stupid.
I am a s***y gamer but you know what, I paid the same for my copy of the game as you. Why is it I am not deserving, in your world, of the better characters and weapons in the game?
It doesn't take that long to get coins and unlock characters in this game. Want more coins? Perform better and rack up more points. The game rewards quality players. Personally, I dig the system it has already and think it's pitch perfect in earning the unlockable content as opposed to just giving hand outs to players who aren't very good at the game.
Well what about games like CoD that have a progression model? If I'm a better gamer, I rank up faster and get more weapons/attachments/perks than you (maybe even in the same amount of time played). How is that different than PvZ? I haven't played PvZ so I don't know....it's an honest question. To me, it only sounds different because there are microtransactions as an option in PvZ and not in CoD. To fully rank up in CoD, you generally need to put in 24-30ish hours of play time.....maybe PvZ is skewed so you have to put in a lot more?I am a s***y gamer but you know what, I paid the same for my copy of the game as you. How about we flip this elitist bulls*** and allow the handicapped to have the handicaps. Everyone starts with everything and we take stuff away from the good players... they shouldn't need top tier weapons to keep their bragging rights. Then if they want the stuff back they can buy it.
Lol, never said you weren't entitled to it, but yeah, games should reward skill. That's not bad in anyway and folks who are bad at the game still get plenty of coins, especially if they actually play the whole game. I mean, you play two full rounds of Gardens & Graveyards and you're bound to earn 15,000 to 20,000 coins. I'm saying they struck what I find is a pretty solid balance for casual and hardcore players when it comes to unlocking stuff. You complete in-game challenges to get more stuff or use the skip cards you earn to plow through them. Pay attention to what points you earn during gameplay and remember that it's not a strictly kill the other guys type of game. Heal, revive, build, and plant to maximize the amount of coins you earn in a game. I mean, you get points for planting pots. It's not that hard to get more content in this game. Certainly not the butt pounding you make it out to be.I am a s***y gamer but you know what, I paid the same for my copy of the game as you. ...this is honestly my Game of the Year for the first year of Xbox One. With how much they've supported this game, how much free stuff they've given away, & it was only $40 to start? C'mon man, if you don't own this title & haven't played any Gardens & Graveyards, then you don't have a soul. haha.
weird how people are still playing this. got bored after a month, i guess its casual fun.
