I’m finding myself playing less and less lately. For months it was pretty much all I played. Giving other games I own more play time now.

I’m ready for the new COD and BFV. I’m sure I’ll come back to PUBG again.

I'm still going strong. Got 2 chicken dinners yesterday.
Shame my duo partner and squad partners don't play it anymore, though. Might be time to LFG and make some new PUBG friends. I want a frickin duo win, that 0 is really annoying me.

It's an incredibly fun game. It's just too much for me atm. They're lagging too hard on war-mode, or any respawn game type to play when you're not in the mood to for intense hour long matches. The progression is nonexistent. I had some stat goals I hit, and now the game grows more and more mundane.

I think they're looting system is pretty brilliant, and one of the things that really made the game stand out for me. But I don't know how well it ages after months of playtime. Now that the shine has wore off, I grow tired of looting and dying to RNG. A lot of that I think is the two maps we have.

I hate Miramar. That map is just boring. Tall builidings make early-game engagement boring stalemates. The big fields make the mid-game nonexistent. The end-game can be fun, but that's assuming you make it those 45 minutes. Loot is good at least.

Erangel is a great map, and hot dropping is probably the only thing I still enjoy every time. That early-game engagement is the best part pf the game but there's no reason we should be leaving Pochinki with uzis and tommy guns. The loot needs to be upped.

And the thing about this game, is that requires so much commitment. It's so good, but so hard to enjoy casually. I don't see myself getting the same joy out of it as the game I play occasionally. I really hope they pick up the pace by the time these other blockbusters come out.

I still enjoy playing it with friends. I think it’s one of the best shooters to play with a group. I lost almost all desire to play solo. I think lately I’ve just had less time to game so when I do play the long matches in this game is a turn off.

War Mode, Sanhok and map selection are not too far off now. Pretty much takes care of all your issues.

Yeah, it definitely isn't casual friendly.

I honestly don't give two hoots about a pointless and meaningless progression system. I do think they need to change the reward system, though. Winning and top 5 places should reward a crate. I also think the seasons aspect needs works and each season should come with a unique and exclusive outfit that you can only get by winning games.

The Rainbow 6 devs did a similar thing some time ago and it worked wonders with that game.

The point is that they are always fixing bugs, but now there are no other priorities except bug fixes, which is huge.

Apart from the fact that bug fixes are not the only priority....in fact, bugs are the least of this games issues.

Yeah I was going to ask about that. I just popped back in for a few games last weekend and overall things seemed stable. The problem seems to be the lack of change. The game is fun but after awhile it gets old.

I don';t think it gets old...but it does lack variety. Doesn't help that FPP is pretty much dead.

But Sanhok with its quicker matches and forced chaos will spice things up. Plus War Mode will offer something very different to break things up. I expect these to be here in 3 weeks.

Also, dynamic weather is coming very soon according to Xbox Nico. Both rain and Fog were mentioned. I expect performance to tank with these additions, though. Fingers crossed I am wrong.

I’m looking forward to those additions and they would get me back into playing this more.

Hello everyone,

Welcome to this week’s Community Weekly Post.

This week’s post will be on the shorter side, as we didn’t have any major content updates. We deployed a hotfix on August 7 that we’ll quickly summarize below, as well as give you a teaser of what’s to come on the PTS!

Hotfix
This was a small quality of life hotfix that improved directional sprinting with the newly introduced analog movement. We also repackaged files to help load into matches more efficiently (thus the larger patch size), so our players should be experiencing faster loading times.

Full patch notes: HERE

PTS
We know you’ve probably been wondering when our next PTS content update will be. While we can’t give you an exact date just yet, know that it will be coming soon!

Here’s a few things you can expect to see on our PTS soon:
  • Limb Penetration
    • Limb Penetration is finally coming! If you’re unsure of what that means, here’s a handy little graphic to demonstrate how damage is applied if a player’s forearm takes a bullet while blocking their head.
  • Dynamic Weather
    • Check out our video on Dynamic Weather, which will be added to Miramar and Erangel!
  • UI/UX QoL updates
  • Performance updates
  • And more!
We also wanted to go over a couple of bugs that we’re currently looking into:
  • Analog Movement - We found a bug where you will stop sprinting if you are sprinting at certain angles. This has been fixed and will be included in the next PTS update.
  • Low Sound Issues - If you are experiencing issues with the sound being too low, please completely exit/shut down any audio or music apps. Even if a song is not playing, the audio mix settings are still applied. By exiting the app, this should help with the low sound issue for most players.
Thanks for your patience while we continue to work through bugs and quality of life improvements. Keep those bug reports and feedback coming, and stay tuned for more news regarding the next PTS update!

Thanks,
PUBG Xbox Team

Limb penetration is nice.

Dynamic weather is cool too. I just hope this don't tank performance like it did on PC--and then it got removed.

Not gunna lie. I was really hoping this PTS would be testing zone time, speed and damage changes. This really needs to happen.

Completely forgot about that. A slower zone speed (movement, rather than time between zones), even with higher damage would be nice. IMO, you should always be able to outrun the zone.

I agree with this. You should be able to outrun on foot just up the damage the smaller it gets.

If I recall correctly, that is kind of what they did on PC. The time before a zone changes was made shorter as the game progressed. The zones started moving quicker in general but at a slower pace...and the damage was made more static. From what I saw on PC the changes were very good.

Those changes are not platform specific, which is why I am surprised they have taken so long to include them on Xbox.

Anybody playing the PTS getting a weird glitch where your ADS sensitivity becomes your right stick sensitivity for general movement?

I started one match while I waited for my friends to finish a match and I noticed fog on the map and a darker cloudy sky while in the plane, but I backed out to join them. We played a few more and didn’t see any weather.

Community Weekly Post - August Week 3

Hello everyone,

Welcome to this week’s Community Weekly Post.

In today’s post, we’ll cover PTS updates as well as the FIX PUBG campaign and how it will affect our Xbox community.

Dynamic Weather

Some of our players are reporting that they haven’t had the chance to experience dynamic weather on the PTS. We’ll explain how the current system works below.

When you first get into a match, the game will decide the weather setting: Clear, Sunset or Overcast. Overcast itself has the lowest probability of the three weather pools (~15% chance).

Dynamic weather is included in the Overcast setting, which starts off cloudy with a chance of fog (15% chance) or rain (15% chance) during the match. That means there is a 30% chance of dynamic weather on Overcast.

Please continue to leave us your feedback so that we can improve upon the weather system!

FIX PUBG

We’ve heard from many of our Xbox players that they’d like more clarity on how the FIX PUBG campaign impacts the Xbox version. We are continually aiming to improve the game on Xbox for our players, and currently we are focused on getting the game into a more optimized state with stable FPS all around on the road to 1.0. We are also working hard to fix the desync issues.

The bug fixes and quality of life updates on the PC version we are focused on during the FIX PUBG campaign will be implemented on Xbox with a 2-4 week gap in between. Most bug fixes will carry over in 2 weeks, with bigger optimization related updates carrying over in less than a month. This is to try to weed out bugs and issues before the update comes to Xbox. This will especially be important for optimization as we want to make sure that there are no major issues caused by these types of updates.

As we near the end of summer, we want to thank everyone for playing and participating in our game preview. It means a lot to us have a passionate community that supports us and helps us accelerate the development of the game. We’ll continue to keep a close eye on your feedback as we work together towards a better and better PUBG on Xbox.

Thanks,
PUBG Xbox Team
