For anyone interested, not my type of thing but I guess these retro consoles are kind of in right now.

While Sony has not given a full list of all the games available yet, their website announcing the product lists Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms as games included. Those games are also included in the reveal trailer, which you can find below.

The device has HDMI output and two controllers for local multiplayer titles. The miniature PlayStation will retail for $99 in the U.S. and is intended to release on December 3, twenty-four years to the day of the PlayStation's Japanese launch.

This is awesome. Looks like we'll get more than just 20 games later though.

EDIT: Preordered.

$100? Not sure about this at that price. I still have a PS2 with some PSone games. Have some retro gaming stores in my area that have a ton of games.

Well, well... why not. That gen has not aged well though. Tekken 2 and wipeout holds up pretty and FF7 kind of is playable (mainly because Japoonese rpgs are archaic even today).... honestly that's about the only games I can think of... that says something about how little that formula of genres has changed.
Oh, loaded and reloaded are fine still too.

Money is money. The sales numbers will be interesting but I just don’t think it has the pull the Nintendo systems have.

$100 for 20 games, and an AC adaptor isn't even included. Get real. Wouldn't some of these games be available on PS4 anyhow? Assuming you even wanted to play them. I thought I wanted to play a bunch of BC titles on the X, but I ended up finding the experience pretty underwhelming, even with 16x native rez boost. I just don't have much interest in going back and replaying games from 20 years ago.

Yeah it has no chance like the NES/SNES Classic. Worse price, Games that don't really hold up as well, and probably just generally worse games. Especially since it would be to be almost entirely 3rd party games if you wanted it to have the best ones.

That's why I think it's easier to to the plunge when BC games are released on XBox. You can pick what you want and it's already on a system you own. There may be only 5 games you want to play and now you have another hardware system to deal with. I don't think anyone is even sure about more titles being added later.

I'm in for 1 if it includes Castlevania SOTN, Final Fantasy Tactics, Xenogears, The Legend of Dragoon, Tomba, and SF3 Alpha. These 6 games + FF7 are easily worth the $100 price tag. If it doesn't you can always add them to the existing library *** Wrink Wrink ***

I'd much rather play a remake with modern graphics vs something that looks exactly how it did when I played it 20 years ago. I know there is an audience for this stuff but I'm not part of it.

Been waiting for this. Don't know why you wouldn't want a mini console that represents the actual hardware that can be played on an HDTV without the issues that come with retro machines. The key for me will be if it can be modded to add 300-800 games to it like the NES/SNES classic.

They need to have Battle Arena Tohshinden, Tobal NO. 1, and Syphon Filter on that thing...

I’d be ok sans syphon filter, do give us R4, motor toon gp, omega boost, jumping flash and that one game where you play as pirate cats in mecha suits like those in the first few Megaman x games. Would love gt2 but I doubt they could get the licenses and fix that glitch where you could only complete the game to like 98% which I had *shakes fist in air*

What? No Syphon Filter? That's the only game I'm interested in, lol.

SOTN needs to be in there for sure. My only oddball request would be Final Doom. I loved the ps1 version.

Doesn't really do anything for me. Still have a PS1 although I think the drive is horked, and the PS3 not only plays the PS1 games on the store but also discs, so I'm pretty much covered in terms of the games I'd want to play. I doubt this will have a game on it that I can't get in the store or find a hard copy of somewhere for a couple bucks.

I just want to know the 20 games so I know if I need the money or to cancel my pre-order.
