Playstation E3 2018

Media Molecule is supposed to have some kind of information about Dreams on Tuesday. Maybe they will finally announce the beta date and that will be the reason its not getting focused on.

Still think Japan Studio will unveil their new action rpg I.P this conference. Sony did not have Shawn Layden, Scott Rodhe and the head of marketing in Tokyo for nothing. Plus the head of the game is talking in a games event in sweden later this year and his last game was loco roco so yeah they are sure going to talk about that lol. Sony is bluffing, there will be a focus on the big 4 but there will be another first party announcement no one sees coming which is this game.

I hope there is at least 15min of the show dedicated to PSVR. I expected at one announcement from one of sony's big studios and several smaller ones.

They have two studios working on VR games. London Studio announced their latest game at PGW but North West studio who were created in 2015 have not yet revealed their VR game.

I haven’t kept up to date with “days gone” since it’s unveiling, I dono bout you folk but I’m getting a Remedy like vibe from it.

Another thing I hope they show is Ace Combat PSVR mode. All the previews sound amazing. They've been showing a few new PSVR titles before E3, so I can't imagine what they'll have on stage.

Edge's next cover which is revealed after E3 is this:

Pretty indicative a new game from Sony is being announced but Sony wants everyone to think it will just be a focus on the big 4 as no one will see it coming.

I'm not seeing anything but a lot of white space and the top part of a controller.

Yes because they cannot reveal it yet as it is most likely an unannounced game.

Seems like a leap to me. I mean, that's one possibility, but there are others, like the image is from one of the known games, but Sony doesn't want it shown yet. They seem pretty guarded about Ghost of Tsushima -- all we've seen is the hilt of a katana. If it's Death Stranding, Kojima is notoriously secretive, so they wouldn't want any images of that leaking early. Or heck, maybe they just aren't finished designing the cover yet.

Why wouldn't they show those games though? They have been announced it would make no sense to be those games because what would they be preventing from leaking? I am pretty confident it's an unannounced title or it makes little sense to blank it out. If a GoT or Death Stranding cover reveal leaked it wouldn't be big but if it is an entirely new game then they wouldn't want that revealing. I mean I could be completely wrong and it could be about Sony's E3 but I am still thinking it is a unannounced title.

I think the clearest example is Death Stranding. We know how the internet pours over every Kojima screenshot, looking for (and usually finding) hidden messages and meanings. Even a simple screenshot of Death Stranding (if new) could cause a problem, if it were leaked. I'm not so sure about Ghost of T, but they seem to be pretty light-lipped about that one, too -- no new screens yet. Maybe they want to keep that under wraps, too.

Ok. I mean, it could be, but it just seems like a lot to read into a blank cover. It could also be that they're still undecided on the cover, or that they're still working on it.

I would agree with this.

I bet it's Ghosts of T. That is probably their next big push. All that image indicates is that the cover will be Playstation oriented, and it's probably hands on with their next big focus.

Are we there yet? I'm ready to see greatness. :B->:

Getting pumped up for Ghost of Tsushima footage. Love me some Sucker Punch. That Death Stranding gameplay reveal will be great obviously. "We don't even know what kind of game it is. How can you get excited?!" Bruh.. it's a Kojima game. You know he'll bring it.

We’ve heard and read rumors about a handful of unannounced games, like sequels to Bloodborne and Horizon Zero Dawn, along with another remake of a PlayStation classic (maybe Syphon Filter) and an upgraded PlayStation VR headset. But with so many games to promote and ship in the next 12 months, and God of War DLC still a question mark, Sony will probably hold most major reveals for future events.

Death Stranding is the only one I'm not really interested in seeing, Kojima's games have never been my favorite anyway and all of these weird trailers haven't done much to make me curious. The other games I'm really looking forward to seeing though.

I'm interested in playing Death Stranding, but I don't care about another weird-ass trailer. It always brings out the whole Kojima worship, which I don't like.

Japan Studio have to announce something. Let's look at the recent statements over the past couple of years:

Japanese PlayStation Developers Tease New Games and Projects, Promise New Info on Mobile Wild Arms

Bloodborne Producer Teruyuki Toriyama, who recently worked on No Heroes Allowed! VR, teased that in 2018 he wants to take on new challenges such as the announcement of an ambitious game and the start of full-scale development of a new project in the concept phase.

LocoRoco Creator Tsutomu Kouno mentioned that there are many painful and sad events nowadays, and we are in a period of change. So he feels that people need more laughter to help overcome such painful times. While the PS4 remaster of LocoRoco and LocoRoco 2 were released in 2017, Kouno-san has not been able to release a completely new game for a while, but in 2018 he would like to announce a new title, and he’ll do his best to help heal the world a little.

Onto RaySpace - trademarked in 2017 and rumoured to be a Space RPG.

Ruin4r (an insider) said in 2015 that Sony would announce:

Dead don't ride (Days Gone)
TLOU2
Crash Bandicoot
Unnamed Space Project
New God of War
The Last Guardian

All of these have come true just they did not drop in 2015, he also said before the one in 2017 SOTC would get a remake so clearly this guy knows his onions. Everyone assumed the space project was Naughty Dog but it seems it is Japan Studio's new I.P.

Fast forward to 2018 where we got tweets:

Jon Webb‏ @therealjonwebb
Great week visiting the team in Tokyo once again, compete with #hanami! With so much talent and passion for gaming around the world, even more greatness awaits @PlayStation!

Shawn Layden and Scott Rodhe were also there. The team in Tokyo must refer to Japan Studio as they are owned by Sony and would have stated if it was Death Stranding. Nope this is Japan Studio's moment to shine this year.

Back in 2016 Famitsu got hints of their next project:

Following was Yasuhiro Kitao, who is in charge of advertisement for Sony Interactive Entertainment. Kitao said that he didn’t have any images to show, but revealed some text from his tablet, to which Hayashi responded with “Whoa, hahahaha,” “Whoa, awesome!,” “Crazy, I got the shivers!,” and “This is amazing! Amazing, amazing amazing.”

Again, no other information other than his reaction was revealed, but going based on the reaction alone, Game Jouhou suggests that it could perhaps be a sequel to a known title or something related to one. Considering they didn’t have any images to show, it’ll probably be a while until we get a proper announcement for SIE’s own mystery title.

Japan Studio's is definitely being announced this year and it will be ambitious and different anything Sony have ever done.

Could be. I'm guessing they hold that for TGS or PGW, but it's possible. Honestly, I'm not expecting anything but maybe one or two small surprises from Sony at this E3, maybe an interesting indie or a remaster, something on that level.

Yeah you can't really expect the world from Sony at E3 at this point. When they announced TLOU 2 at PSX I assumed they must have something really big for E3 if they didn't want to save it for that and they obviously didn't.

Nope I am pretty sure it will be E3 as this game is meant to have international appeal. The director behind it loved Mass Effect and space stuff. His favourite film is back to the future and he is heavily influenced by western culture. Plus I don't think they could do just Japanese appeal as it will limit its appeal and when the product strategist of Playstation is checking up on it this year it seems primed for E3. No one will see it coming and no one will expect Japan Studio to create such a game. Shu usually just checks in on Japan Studios stuff but when you have Scott Rodhe and Shawn Layden checking too you know it is not your natural game from Sony.

Well, it'd be nice if you were right. I'm not getting my hopes up.
