$100 cheaper for the base bundle is tempting.

The only thing holding me back is that Sony hasn't really invested strong first party support for it outside of extra modes for standard games. I want a Sony game build from the ground up for the device.

Strong third party support. But I need Sony stuff for it.

Playroom VR, Until Dawn, and RIGSs are some of the best games on the system. Playroom VR isn't even my kind of game and its incredible, and free.

Speaking of which, RIGS is free this month with PS+

I get what you mean though. For me though, first party support from sony hasn't even been that interesting on ps4, alot of the games are just the same thing to me, same with MS, or even worse.

I want to see a VR platformer like that level in Playroom VR. A full blown game.

For September I got my eyes on The Solus Project and Megaton Rainfall though I really don't know much about either.

Rigs is quite good. I got it free with my VR bundle deal. Just a word of warning for those that get motion sickness, that game hit me hard. There's a part where when your "mech" gets destroyed you eject out and fly up through the air. You can turn that off, but it is a cool part of the game.

I'm definitely interested in some of those new releases but they'll probably have to wait in the backlog.

I saw a guy on reddit that burned 1200 calories playing this in one session per his fibit device.

People are calling this a sport

The first thing I thought when I played through RE7 "this is one the best things ever in gaming."

Neogaf seems to agree, the problem is not enough people have tried it yet.
I tried playing the same areas over again on the big screen, after VR, and although it did look a little better in some of the details, the game just seemed like I was just too removed from it to enjoy it the same way. It's kind of crazy, how VR brings you inside those scenes in such a way that it's hard to describe.

I really hope that there are more full game first-person experiences that will translate well. I'm thinking that Skyrim might be the next! I have a confession. I've played Morrowind and Oblivion, but not Skyrim. I really hope it gets good reviews on PSVR, so that could actually be my first taste of the game. I could totally imagine playing either of the earlier titles in VR, so I don't doubt that it has the potential.

There was a post on reddit about this. It's difficult to explain. There's a huge camp of people that haven't tried VR and are "meh" about it. When they do they will understand. It's something you have to experience.

Being INSIDE resident evil is not in the same universe as playing it on a big screen TV. That's the only way I can describe it. The depth, the awareness of the environment makes it feel like another game. Resident Evil 7 also has some of the best depth of any VR game I've played on any device.

Looking forward to Solus Project(move compatible only Sept 15th I think)

And Megaton Rainfall(Sept 26) I'm hearing that MR has controls like Eagle Flight, where you tilt your head to control it. If so, I love that. Eagle Flight controlled brilliantly after an hour or so.

The flying reminds me that I have been thinking that a Superman game can only be done justice in VR. If some developer would just make a good demo with a generic superhero and a generic city, then pitch the game to DC... I think it could work, depending on how well they do it.

I've been watching people play this on Vive and they absolutely love it. The immersion is top notch compared to TV screen gaming as always, taking an above average game to very impressive. First full-length RPG on PSVR. Skyrim is next. Move controllers are required.

Arrives on Sept 18th!

Steam reviews "Very Positive"

Im amped for Skyrim. Somehow it will only be the third time i've bought it but feels like I've already bought it a few times.

Well.....
Nearly a year later and I reconnected my PSVR to see if it still works before selling it to a work mate.
It still works and I gave Eagle Flight a try (brilliant by the way) and decided to keep it.

Obviously all my PSpro HDR games are now not enabled, but..... Playing Horizon and Uncharted, I can't notice any loss.

Oh my, all that time wasted for nothing.

[Solus is the] First full-length RPG on PSVR.

Just a note: From what I've read/seen, it's not an RPG. It's a first-person exploration game with survival elements. It resembles other "walking sim" type games, in that your primary task is exploration in an environment where everyone is dead/gone.

It looks like it conveys a feeling of isolation and mystery pretty well.

Its just a demo with alot of stuff missing for that purpose, but what I like is they confirmed alot of movement options:

Free locomotion with the Move Controllers(new info. you can swing a sword while moving around freely)
Free locomotion with the DS4
Teleport with Moves Controllers(demo movement)

Added to that, there are all sorts of options for each one. At the very least we are getting the full version of skyrim with tons of options. Not only that, they redid the menu for perks so when you go to your character its like your in space.

Some good news and some bad news about PSVR.

Good news: They shipped 400K in the three months ending in June, which is a significant increase in sales rate.

More good news: PSVR is substantially outpacing all the other VR headsets. "Demand for Sony's PSVR remained unmatched amongst the top tier of tethered headsets." PSVR has 25% of the market; Oculus about 11%; Vive 4%.

Bad news: It's a little too successful, compared to its competitors. Andrew House: "I‘m not entirely comfortable being the market leader in VR by such a margin that seems to be happening right now. With such a brand new category you want a variety of platforms all doing well to create that rising tide and create the audience.” The danger is that if only PSVR succeeds, and the other platforms flounder, then VR does not get the install base necessary to attract AAA developers, and so it doesn't reach mainstream adoption.

(I posted this in the sales thread, but I figured it belonged here, too.)
