I thought it might be interesting to see how long people have been around this forum or TXB. I've been here forever, but I know others have joined within the past year or so. My sense is that the majority of members are TXB veterans who've been attached to this forum for a decade or more. But I thought it would be interesting to see.

Add your time up on both forums. Round to the nearest year.

The original Xbox released Nov 2001, and I know I joined TXB (actually it was called MSXbox back then) 6 months before that, so I've been here 2018 - 2001 = 17 years.

Lurked TXB starting in 04 when Halo 2 was about to release at the age of 15, ended up registering in 2005 to s*** post in the forums. Now I'm 29 and still do the same thing, with about 95% less gaming than I did back in the day.

I made it in probably a few months before the other place shut down, looking for info on the new generation of consoles and finding a whole bunch of old dickheads who reminded me of the old dickhead who's married to my wife.

I’ve no idea. I joined TXB whenever the OG Xbox came out. 16/17 years if I was to guess.

I was a Planet XBox forum goer. Then at some point, those forums redirected everyone to TeamXBox. I think that was back in 2000? Long live Planet XBox!

A year?
I did lurk at txb for awhile though. Mostly been at vcg before that died, RIP.

What's VCG?

2003 for me.

I remember Xboxfanboy.com, or was it xbox360fanboy.com? I love thinking about different defunct sites.

I hung out at Xbox Addict, too, which was a fun little site, back in the day. It's still around, but their forums are dead.

Don't remember when I joind TXB, but I know I was there for Gears of War 1. So, using that as my start point = 12 years minimum.

We crave games, great forum but it died.... or it went down and I think owner didn't believe it worth to continue. A few here posted there, lowdru, tumorman, viktor and a few more.

I'm thinking about 12-14 years. I thought I joined maybe right before the 360 came out. I basically lurked for a long, long time.

I was your typical PC master race type who decided to jump and see what all the console fuss was about.

I joined TXB in 2002 and have been around ever since. Has always been an entertaining community over the years.

Then I joined WCG and then here. RIP TXB and WCG. Union you’re our only hope.

Yall remember GamerType?

lol, was a terrible site. Sorry Shock, loved TXB, but your next venture was not your finest.

RIP WCG. Wish more of the regulars would post over here, but I'm sure they've gone somewhere else. Miss hub, Tok, and thug

Oh, WCG. When TXB fell apart, they went one way, and we went the other.

They went one way. Others went another way. I stayed put. I think it was nearly a year, maybe more, after everyone left before I started Union up.

That's right. It wasn't a simultaneous split. It became clear pretty fast that GamerType wasn't going to flourish, and WCG became the main alternative, until you started Union. A lot of the OT crowd left for WCG, iirc, with most of the game-related people hanging on for dear life at TXB.

Yeah. There were very few of us left in the OTL. Well, few real people.

Right, it was mostly bots there near the end. It was pretty ridiculous. No administrator, no ability to screen out new members (so bots just flooded the place), and you and Showers running around constantly deleting Viagra ads. It was nuts. I remember thinking it was like a ship lost at sea without a captain, with two deckhands furiously mopping the deck.

It was Sea of Bots.

There was some great bargains to be had on new kitchens though.

I remember posting when the Xbox 360 colony video unlocked in 2004 and I doubt gaming will ever see a moment as hype as that. It was really cutting edge stuff at the time.

I think this might have been how I found out about TXB. I had an OG Xbox but kind of drifted back to PS2 around this time. Once the colony stuff started coming out and early hints of the 360 I started getting hyped about it.
