The spaces between realities!
I pretty much exclusively use it as a portable console. I take it to work, library, etc.

I've only used dock mode like 2 times so far. I don't see that as changing either.

How about you?

Portable...at home. Some games I prefer on the big screen (Mario Kart) but for many the portable screen is fine and much more versatile about the house.

I'd probably use mine docked half the time, and portable half the time. I wouldn't be "on the go," though; just around the house. Or maybe I'd take it "on the go" sometimes.

Mine stays docked for the most part. The battery life on this thing does not lend itself to any type of long gaming sessions.

I don't think I would ever dock it, but would only use it around the house... I fear the dock would scratch the screen, or ruin the connections by pushing it in, and pulling it out of the dock all the time.

Isn't there a power cord input for the Tablet?

Yeah but to me it kinda defeats the whole portable part if I've got it tethered to the AC adapter and the wall while trying to play it portable.

I would keep the adapter where I usually sit to play games, and always have it plugged in charging while I'm playing... Once I need to use it on the go (Those damn bathroom breaks :) then I'd just disconnect it until I came back.

Docked 99% of the time with the remaining 1% when I was moving it from the box to the dock.

That doesn't impact performance though. Some games actually run better in portable mode. BOTW runs better this way. Digital Foundry even did a video on it. Makes sense due to the decrease in resolution.

So... Portable mode with the kickstand, and the controllers detached is the best way to go then?

Mostly handheld but I do have that sweet, sweet Pro Controller.

Feels like this thread excludes certain people like me who don't own a Switch yet. When i get one, and that will be soon.. maybe even next month i'll be playing it docked 90% of the time. Still love the idea that i can take it on the go or even play it around the house away from my TV so i'll play it portable just for the hell of it at times.

Portable. I mainly play at work over my lunch break or while hanging out in the living room (dock is set up in my bedroom).
