Just a fun thread for people to chime in what systems they played a decent amount on or bought. No worries if it was a family purchase and everyone played. It doesn't have to be something you personally bought. Even include handhelds!

Looking back, I think I did well with consoles, but myself and our family back then never got a Commodore or Amiga..... which were the best for computer gaming in the 80s. Apple was meh.

Never had a Dreamcast either. At that time, it had the best sports. The transition from PS1 to PS2 was painful as the sports titles were lousy, yet DC had 2k NFL, NBA and NHL.

Consoles
Intellivision
NES
Genesis
SNES
PS1
PS2
360
X1

Handhelds
Mattel football
Mattel baseball

Computer
Apple II
PC (XT, 286, 386, 486.... the last rig I had that was good for games was a P3 800mhz with a GeForce card I bought somewhere around 2000)
After the P3, I just bought laptops with no interest in PC gaming as I focused on PS2 and then 360 and now X1

Mine will be much smaller than a lot here I'm sure, but here goes, in the order I had them:

Consoles:
Super Nintendo
Nintendo 64
GameCube
PS2
Xbox 360
Xbox One

Handhelds:
None

Computer:
PC
Mac Mini (not for gaming)

Gosh.

Home systems

Amstrad CPC 464
Amiga 500
Amiga CD32 (yes, I know)
Saturn
PlayStation
Nintendo 64
Dreamcast
PlayStation 2
Xbox
Gamecube
Xbox 360

Handhelds

Game Gear
Gameboy Color
Neogeo Pocket Color
Gameboy Advance
PlayStation Portable

I used to buy everything that came out but that isn't the case anymore. I don't have the time to play everything on every system. There are so many great games out there it can feel overwhelming.

It is why I still have an Xbox 360 and no PS4 or One. I have a seemingly never ending supply of terrific games to try on what I consider the greatest console of all time.

Still fascinated by the business of the current generation however and the technology behind it.

All the PCs I have owned had integrated graphics and weren't really for gaming.

We didn't have a ton of money growing up, but I still managed to get my hands on a few:

In Order:

Intellivision
Colecovision
Sega Genesis
( Christmas- we all lost our minds!)
NES
Sega Saturn
( again, Christmas- from Gradma. My parents hid it at the bottom of a box filled with books)
Dreamcast( I was in college and saved for a whole year so I could have it at launch with 10 games :D)
Playstation 1
Nintendo 64
( won it in a Karaoke Contest, lol)
Xbox
Xbox 360
( I was in Iraq when my wife sent me this)
Gaming PC/Workstation (bought it for Crysis, and to do work on)
Gaming PC/Workstation (XPS 720)

edit: PlayStation 3 (forgot this one. Wife got it for me for Christmas. Had it less than a year before the kid broke it)
Gaming PC/Workstation (finally had one built because proprietary set-ups suck)

Xbox One

Loved it. My first console.

My parents bought it for me for Christmas off a TV shopping network.
If there's any retro style consoles I wouldn't mind finding are that Neo Geo X (though I read it's sketchy) and a Vectrex for my bedroom table.

Is Vectrex a durable system? You think if I found one of eBay it would probably still work?

Coming from Intellivision experience I'd never buy a used Intelly. Those things overheated a lot (we took it in for repairs 2-3 times).

Basically everything besides Intellivison, Virtual Boy and some the obscure early consoles. Never owned a Lynx or Game Gear but wanted them.

I recall it being fairly durable. It lasted through my abuse anyway.
