Sony isn't worried or hurting if a few xbots that also own PS4 don't renew there service.

Of course not. Where they are hurting is in the lack of investment in their online platform. But hopefully this money they charge will go towards improvements on it.

I guess I could just look for deals instead or wait until they have PSVR games in the monthly rotation.

This sucks massively but I will say this, coming from an XBL background I've had a PS4 for about a month and a half now and the free games justify their service to cost more than XBL.

I've had no issues with the PSN in regards to performance etc so I somewhat get it.

Thankfully it actually has been improving since it released.

Exactly, it was free when it was bare bones without all the features that Live had and now that Sony is adding features and outpacing Microsoft it's going up just like how Microsoft did it.

Games are a lot less laggy on PSN compared to Live these days, from my experience. Not to mention Sony has been blowing away GWG with their PS+ offerings of late.
