You're casual if you're a videophile and want the latest expensive UHD Blu-ray for your latest expensive UHD 4K TV.

The dude doesn't get it.

Actually I did get it, but I wouldn't expect you to understand that. After all, you thought that by the system not having a drive built in instantly meant that consumers would be left without an option. So basically, you already had your mind made up.

Data caps came in a smaller supply and just as expensive a few years ago, but they have increased in size over time just like any typical data cap. I know because i used them, too. Now, if that data cap were to ever become problem for the user, the data cap option is eliminated with an alternative put in it's place. In this case, an actual BluRay player. Its not some quantum computing equation; its pretty straight forward problem solving.

Speeds are not the problem, it's the lack of access and data caps that many providers have.

Speeds and data plans come down over time -- especially with everything headed digital, which means there are better plans/options to take the place of the previous ones, allowing for more flexibility in your online activities. Now, If someone is on a very limited, strict data plan, I don't see why they would be streaming ANYTHING other than doing the bare basics. This is where other outlets are to be had. Do you stop watching TV because you dislike cable or satellite? No. You simply gravitate to a suitable other outlet that works in your favor.

I honestly don't see why anyone would go out of their way to invest in a 4K set and not know how they are going to watch content on it. That's pretty bizarre.

PS4 Pro's PC equivalent

"Coming out of the PlayStation press briefing, there was a lot of skepticism on whether or not the PS4 Pro would actually be able to handle 4K gaming. If our build is any indication of what the PS4 Pro might run like, then the answer’s yes, it can run games at 4K...kind of. While it will be able to handle lesser-taxing games at 2160p natively, we suspect the more graphically demanding titles will be upscaled.

While we tried to recreate the PS4 Pro environment as faithfully as we could, we want to reiterate that our experiment isn’t likely to be precisely indicative of the PS4 Pro’s true performance. We simply can’t account for a lot of factors, such as having access to the console’s low-level API that would give it a performance advantage relative to its power, but given what we know coupled with the available off-the-shelf components, we think our build offers the best representation of ballpark performance you’ll find today. As it’s looking so far, the PS4 Pro is about as powerful as a competent budget gaming PC. We'll know how right (or wrong) we were when the console comes out in November"

Of course... Now that I think about it, the system does run PS3 remasters in native 4K. With developers getting more familiar with its custom hardware, this very well could apply to some actual PS4 titles.

Yeah right. Speak for yourself. I could easily assume the same about you, so let's not go there.
I think I've managed to stay fair regardless of my preferences. To your everlasting credit, your fanboyism stays with being positive about your preference without attacking the competitor. I respect that even if I think you are a bit overly defensive.

I guess I just don't care about resolutions getter even higher. I just want a console that does 1080p 60 fps with high to ultra high settings on all games. :)

Internet speeds will increase with time and prices will drop significantly.
Internet speeds for the masses will not be increasing significantly for quite a long time, if ever. It's going to take fiber and many municipalities won't let any more cable on the polls and that will mean the cables will have to go underground. Companies looking to do that are required to repair anything they dig up. You're talking about an investment that is not possible by any company on the planet on a wide scale.
