"Chang says his company has had talks with all of the major console companies about bringing PUBG to a broader audience. Microsoft Corp. will launch the title exclusively on Xbox later this year. Bluehole is in talks with Sony about introducing a version for the PlayStation after that."

Everyone took it for granted that it was coming to PS4, but I didn't expect them to confirm they were in talks with Sony. I figured there would have been some kind of NDA involved with MS, at this stage.

I heard they might've gotten concerned about Fortnite stealing away some of their audience, and that prompted this announcement. Who knows.

People are pointing out that the website author made that comment and was not made by the publisher/developer.

I don't know whats boom about that. We always knew it was coming. Fortnite is just lighting a fire under them.

Yeah, not my kind of game at all. But you can't go anywhere without hearing about it.

I'm curious how well it will translate to consoles. Will it be as successful as it is on PC? Will it run okay? How will the adaptation from k&m to controller go? I guess we'll see.

No idea. But select gamers are furious that Xbox and PC are getting it first and PS4 development hasn't even started. They just want Xbox to fail.
 
I wouldn't be shocked if MS didn't even pay for exclusivity at this point, it could be a matter of the dev not being able to handle multiple console launches at once and MS saying they'd help make the X1 version, the PC version isn't even complete yet.
 
I still find it amazing how huge this game is, considering it's not even finished.

I can't help but feel that the game is kind of ugly though.

Behind the effects and rendering, is some pretty bland artwork. It's like a rainbow of beige.

Still, glad that more gamers will get the chance to play it.

It's the modern day minecraft, if minecraft were a battle royale game.

Dude, is there a mod/mode for minecraft like PUBG? If not there should be *cough*msandraregegonit*cough*
 
This game was announced to be targeting PS4 after the Xbox One release like forever ago.

Get with the times.
 
To be fair to Val, he didn't post it as a separate thread; I did. He just posted it in the PS4 Discussion thread, as one post among many. I transplanted it, because I didn't want the general thread getting bogged down in PS4 vs. Xbox talk, and I thought maybe people wanted to talk about it separately.

Maybe not. If so, just let the thread die.
