Rage 2

Yeah this is my most anticipated game, but being made by avalanche and Bethesda doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence lol. Can’t wait but no way I’m preordering.

The important thing to remember is it's made by the team that made Mad Max. That game was a gem.

it had great car gameplay, good graphics, awesome looking world, so-so controls, too much repetitiveness which was why I stopped playing about halfway through. It really had potential though and if they could've done a sequel with better and more side activities it could've really been something else.
Game definitely was okay though.

I agree with a lot of that, though I loved the game. They had help from the Doom guys on this one, if I recall, and everything I've seen from Rage 2 looks to have the variety aspect taken care of.

They have such a lovely grip on physicality that I just enjoy. The car combat was just awesome, and it looks to have carried over times 10...

This game looks fun as hell

Right? With the powers as well, it looks like there is a ton of potential variety in how to deal with a given situation, and the combat itself looks fast and frantic. Really looking forward to this one, it's a day one pick up fo sho...

Gist I've gotten from a few impressions I've glossed over is that the shooting/ combat is great but the driving element is lackluster. Hopefully the driving doesn't feel overly stiff which is what a couple of articles have suggested. Digging what I'm seeing in the combat though for sure!

Yeah the small clip of the driving from the 12 minute video didn’t look great

Yeah, looks a bit stiff and like it may feel a bit un-responsive. It's the team that did mad max, so I am imagining that the driving feels a bit like the early mad max car before any upgrades, cause that felt a bit stiff and sluggish as well early on, but once you upgraded a bunch it felt better, maybe that'll be similar here?

Yeah I loved the feel of the driving in Mad Max, but thought it really benefited from being mostly in an open world. That one story mission race that was on a track was terrrrrible

As divisive as it was to the game, I thought the batmobile in Arkham Knight controlled incredibly well. It was responsive, intuitive and felt satisfyingly fast. That and GTA I think are some of the better controlling vehicles in open world games in my mind. Once you got some speed boosts and other upgrades, Mad Max's "magnum opus" was pretty fun as well, but overall the driving in that game did feel a touch on the sluggish side, but it was clearly deliberate and that sort of slower, more sluggish feel was felt on foot as well. This game looks to have a disparity in that regard as the out of vehicle FPS aspect seems refined and fast paced, so I'm not sure how I feel about the in vehicle aspect having such a contrast in responsiveness.. Guess we'll see when we can get some hands on... For me, the game is most likely still a day one unless some other more major issue comes to light.

They have months to tweek the driving.

I wish they would show the Immortal Shrouded more. They have personal cloaking devices.

That looks amazing!! The release date is too far away to be releasing a video like that.
