Does it count as drink driving if you're in a boat?

I feel like that shouldn't be a thing.
It's drunk driving here in the US, as the driving infraction is called DUI (Driving Under the Influence) but on a boat, it's called naturally, BUI. It is a thing in all 50 states, but unlike vehicles, I'd bet that in a whole lot of areas, more than half of the boats on the water have people in control that have been drinking. I think the two things just kind of go hand in hand, and have for ages... I was going to say maybe except the commercial fishing boats, but I would not be surprised. Having lived in Maine and Florida, I know some of those guys.

Not unless you're golfing, and I'd hope you'd have the decency to use irons instead of woods. There's a joke about wood and irons in there for you, too, but I'm too ill to sanitize it for the forum.

Nervous, thanks for all your intel from last weekend. Couple more questions:

1. By participating in the alpha/beta, were you required to provide feedback to Rare? And if you did, what were your biggest positive and negative takeaways?

2. From what you did all weekend, did it feel sustainable over time or was it fairly evident that there is going to have to be a lot more gameplay types added on?

3. What is the endgame, the goal, the purpose to keep going on? Gold rankings? Better clothes/guns/ships? Infamy? (However that would be measured). Are ratings individual or crew-based? Do you have to keep your same crew together over time?

Sorry if too much to ask, whatever you can answer is appreciated!

Well, there is very limited stuff was on the built so that I can tell it's not added to the game yet. I think the game is great and its only in Alpha but to see what else will be added or the things I know what is going to be added will make that game that much more fun. Also, I can say just by that Alpha the REPLAY is going to be very high.

It's like Destiny but in Pirates.

The other thing your asking better clothes and weapons are going to be added and not in this ALPHA. I only can imagine the beta version is going to be a dramatic difference because the content that will be added. Again there is a limit on what we can do. I mean we can sail and get booty, turn it in and that is it. Which it's already in the videos that RARE put out.
This title will be one of Microsoft best title in a while that is a game changer like what HALO and Gears did on each of their Generations (Xbox OG, Xbox 360).

I don't know what is the end game because again the ALPHA is limit, not in size but content wise because it's in on this built which again I think its old.

Could it be tied to Xbox Game Pass though? Phil said he would like to see games launch on that service. Maybe Sea of Thieves is the start of Microsoft's all digital future.

I don't like seeing the people reacting videos. I don't need to see other people having fun to know if its fun.

Just got an email about a PC Alpha coming soon...hmmm.

Also, Apparently Rare visited the Coalition to get some help:

"Myself and some of the team also paid a visit to our friends over at The Coalition in Vancouver. They’ve had great success with Gears of War 4 on PC so we feel like we’re also carrying the torch for the next wave of PC titles! Of course we’re making different games, being built in different ways, but the approach to game stability, player experience and player expectations remains the same. We’ve come away having learned a lot and it’s great for us to be able to share knowledge across teams within Xbox. We’ll be using all of this knowledge, along with our own ambitions, as we continue to build out the PC feature set before and during Technical Alpha. A good example of this is the video settings in Gears of War 4 – they are an absolute sight to behold and we’ll be using this as our guiding light for when we regularly add new settings."

I got an email for PC survey. Not sure if that is sent out to all insiders that signed up to play on PC or if it was sent to only those who were given access to the game? Unless I missed an email I haven't been given access yet but this has me wondering now...

I got that too and I haven't been invited to anything yet.

I got that too, but I neglected it because I am fed up with not getting added to the beta.

Well, I just got another PC survey NOW because of an update. I elected to fill it out and uploaded my DX text too. Probably a waste of my time.

I checked Reddit and sounds like the PC test hasn't even started yet. Still not sure if this survey was sent to everyone that signed up for the test or just a select few they plan on inviting eventually. Either way I'll fill it out. I'm still rolling with a first gen Intel so hopefully since it's pretty old they would include me.

Keep in mind today is another day to play the alpha of this game.
Honestly, I am already bored of the game. Not sure if I am missing something or if Alpha testing has strict content blocking, but it seriously lacks things to do, has no real variety, and is full of dicks who spawn camp kill over and over and forcing you to leave the game.

It is rather beautiful, though. Especially those sunrises & sunsets.

Sounding more and more like a flop :(

I wouldn't get too down about it. You need to take my comments for what they are, which is early impressions of an alpha build.

I remember them saying you would have small boats for solo play, yet these don't seem to be in last build. So who knows what other content is missing.
