10 Video Game Trailers That Were Better Than The Game

10. Redfall

“Not all images appear in-game.” That’s an understatement. Bethesda’s Redfall promised an open world filled with vampires–what more is there to ask for?

Apparently a lot. The Redfall trailer fails to capture how buggy and outdated the game feels.

The portrayal of characters is also misrepresented. You might be expecting cutscenes that mimic live-action films, but you’ll be stuck with a series of still-frames and a voice-over.

Redfall's trailer isn't anything special in comparison to other video game trailers, but it still manages to outshine its game.

Comicbook Gaming? What a terribly written, pointless article filled with absolutely no useful or new information that isn't just common sense to anyone with basic reasoning abilities. Player count keeps plummeting? Cool, that would apply to literally every game released 4 months ago. Virtually nobody is playing the vast majority of games on Steam, where are those articles?

I’m a victim of having too many games I haven’t played, why!!!!!!

10 year plan for Redfall? 😅

Bethesda Softworks publishing head Pete Hines has reassured players that Arkane isn't giving up on Redfall, despite its lukewarm reception on launch earlier this year. In fact, he's confident it will be a good game people want to play on Game Pass ten years from now.

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Hines answered a question about how publisher Bethesda is changing as a result of the response to Redfall by explaining that the publisher has plenty of experience with games not going the way it had hoped.

"We are the same company that has had launches that didn't go the way we wanted, and we don't quit or abandon stuff just because it didn't start right," he said. "The Elder Scrolls Online's PC launch was not flawless but we stuck with it. Now it's like this insanely popular multiplatform. It's the same with Fallout 76. Redfall is no different for us.

"Okay, we didn't get the start we wanted, but it's still a fun game… and we're going to keep working on it. We're going to do 60fps. We're going to get it to be a good game because we know, as a first-party studio, Game Pass lives forever. There will be people ten years from now who are going to join Game Pass, and Redfall will be there.

Your trolling a dead game is getting creepy, let it go man.

At no point did he say they have a 10 year plan.

Just that it would still be on Game Pass.

It was a joke sheesh.

Clearly they don't have plans to abandon it and clearly they want the game to be playable still in 10 years on GP and enjoyed.

Good news

Any news on when the DLC will come?

You say you are just posting news, but in the same post you ask "Any news on when the DLC will come?"

Yeah the news generate discussion about whether anyone bought the DLC or is waiting for it. It's clear they are still selling it despite the population numbers these days.

Posts deleted. I get it, we get riled up sometimes over negative news about our favorite consoles and their respective exclusives, but lets tone it down. Warning has been issued. Next will be thread banned.

Come on, dudes.
