Last year I replaced my Samsung DLP with a Panasonic 65 plasma (non-3D, the last model before they ended production).

Now after 4 years, I'm replacing my receiver with a Yamaha RX-V575 and ordered a pair of RTi8 Tower Speakers from Polk audio and now looking at BIC America F12 subwoofer. I'm waiting on rears, and a center channel is being donated by a friend.

This is my first HDMI receiver, my older Yamaha only had optical input, no outputs.

Soon, my TV will be on the wall and I'll have my receiver and other AV equipment in my closet or on my rack.

Pics are you're full of it!

I wish I was able to watch a DLP TV. I would have had a gigantic TV years ago and moved on to a projector. Alas..... The dreaded rainbow effect.

Haha, I will post pics when I get home. The DLP was great, but had issues when connecting a windows pc via vga or HDMI to it. I sold the DLP (61inch) for $250 off Craigslist and put that towards my Panny.

Well you are definitely good on the TV, I want to upgrade some speakers soon.

Think his question was more about the speakers you plan to upgrade ;)

Oh duh lol, I have 2 Pioneer floorstanding speakers for my mains, an aperion center, 2 Bose bookshelfs as my surrounds, and a 10" Energy subwoofer. I don't have money to upgrade now but when I do I want to have my center and mains match, I'm thinking Klipsch.

I just recently upgraded all of my front speakers, the receiver and TV is new in my HT as well. Only thing that has stayed the same was the side and rear speakers.

ah I need to do this in the future. got my new house this week with finished basement. I already got a good set-up but hell you always want to upgrade :p really need to replace my speakers.

Just to give you some ideas here....You could also do some in-wall speakers for a much cleaner set up. I have all of my components in a closet behind the tv and they are all controlled by a remote control extender that installs in the remote.

all right after months after I moved and cleaning up today I find the f***ing blots to mount my TV to the stand. I'll take a pic later now I got to move my game consoles around s I got room on the top shelf where the TV was sitting. trying to pick where to put the f*** as f*** One. I got the PS4 right under the TV as it's small next to the fat ass One that won't fit on the first shelf.

That sucks. I remember hearing of problems with Onyko a few times over the years. Overheating problems, HDMI problems etc.

Pioneer is good quality. I stick with Yamaha because they've never messed up on me and I think pretty much all the receivers from most brands are fairly equal in sound/picture quality at this point.

Edit: Oops, I suggested that Marantz and Pioneer had merged. Couldn't have been more wrong.

Kind of ironic here, Onyko took over Pioneers A/V division. So Pioneer receivers are now Onyko products essentially? Though I doubt they've changed too much with the current Pionner lines as far as manufacturing and QA so you should be safe with a Pioneer still?

Maybe want to reconsider? haha

well I had 3 Pioneers since 99, I sold my first one to my cousin when I upgraded to a 6.1 unit with component switching (my 1st only had S-video switching, yes it was old). But I never really took advantage of the 6.1 as I had no desire to install a rear surround speaker in my room. So I sold it to a friend and got my 3rd and final one. But I wanted a model that took advantage of the high end audio of blu ray (True HD, DTS-HD, etc) and I had a buddy who wanted a nicer than his 1996 prologic unit from RCA. So I sold him mine and bought the Onkyo, fun fact the 1st Pioneer I sold in 05 to my cousin he still has it and works fine considering it is now 17 years old :surprise:.
