I can't help but notice that quite a few of you decided not to migrate to WCG since it's inception over three years ago. There are nearly 1,500 registered members and it's pretty active, so what kept you away?

I'm a member there....I just post twice per year because many of the people that post there are ones I didn't like at TXB in the first place.

I was new to TXB when the exodus happened, I just happened to stick around there rather than post on WCG.

For some reason it never felt gamer orientated to me.

That's actually why I was always a fan of the OTL at TXB. I enjoy video games and all, but I never ventured out of the OTL and never saw hardly any talk of video games at all.

I have an account, but it never felt the same and didn't seem that busy in the video game area. TXB has always been my one and only forum because I was heavily into XBox news and stories. Most people seem to stay onboard. I actually feel somewhat closer to the gang now that we all jumped ship together. It seems more tightly knitted now. Kinda cool. I think most felt it was time. Nothing wrong with WCG as a forum. It just wasn't for me.

Everyone says the same thing.. "Gaming area isn't busy"..

It's like... chicken before the egg.. lol.. bunch of people who want to talk videogames not signing up because other people aren't talking videogames.

As much as I love the OTL, I like to get the gaming news also. Gamertype tried to do it but failed, WCG prevailed.

I never really liked the old TXB OTL. Seemed like a silly place, sort of a drunken frat party type atmosphere where everyone tried hard to be "outrageous" and funny, and a general tone of dickishness prevailed. That sort of thing gets old to me. WCG was mostly ex-OTL'rs, so when they left, I had no interest in joining them.

It was some of those personalities that made me stay in the OTL to begin with.

I actually liked GamerType. After that site started fizzling out I wandered over to FEZ which is now overhauled into Banhammer. I guess both those forums just seemed more laid back.

I guess I felt the same way Anderson did to. I signed up to WCG but eventually lost interest in the site.

I was there mainly for the off topic stuff, but it got kind of stale after a few months.

The firearms thread was pretty sweet until the shootings.

The reason, most likely C3K is that this place was advertised in the TXB forumwide notifications area. If you recall, both wcg and GT were censored after a while at TXB, as was decided by the powers that be at the time. Those powers no longer exist or care, so UVGF has not been censored.

Personally, I couldn't quite get into WCG because it leaned too far towards the aspect of the OTL that I never really enjoyed too much when it was at TXB. I like Bunz, Hub and most of the members there as individuals, it's just the overall vibe isn't quite right for me.

I post everywhere. A finger in every pie. Not that it's a particularly important finger. I kind of like being semi known actually. Like if I was ever asked to be a mod I wouldn't want to do it.

WCG is a good site, there is quite a lot of bickering these days though.

Pshh, mad video game discussions happen at WCG. Y'all need to get the sticks removed. I'm not knocking this site, it's whatever whatever, but WCG has been strong and established for quite some time. This site is going to go the same route as GamerType if you don't get some non-game discussion going on. It needs to be a community.

Lol, gamer type never had this many people to begin with. This is a community. The majority of txbers voted on it via polls. It's not like Plainview decided to make a website over night.

I must have missed these polls somehow because the creation of this website blindsided me...in a good way.. but a blindside none the less.
