Sony at E3 2017

A terrible remainder of 2017.
No reason 4 the delays especially Spiderman and Sony shot themselves by not having it ready the year the movie releases.

I thought that at first too but the game has gotten a ton of great responses from E3 and the character is big enough on his own to sell a ton of copies of the game. Being that it's not the same story as the movie or even the same actor doing the voice work I don't think it'll hurt them too much.

Knack 2 actually looks good...didn't know it was 2017.
Spiderman I clearly saw somewhere having a 2017 date.
Remakes blah
Forgot(that quick :smash:) about Law/Breakers

I think you probably saw that quote from someone at Marvel saying the Spider-Man game was coming this year, that was going around not too long ago but it wasn't really official. Sony never gave a date until this E3. I agree with you on knack 2, it looks like it could be kind of fun and it's not a full priced game either. I never thought they'd actually make a sequel but at least they are trying to right the wrongs of the first game, hopefully they do a good job.

Hey VaLLiancE just curious, it seems like your taste runs mostly toward MP shooters like Destiny or to Souls-type games, and you don't have much interest in the types of games Sony specializes in (story/character-focused, with meaty SP campaigns). I know that's a simplification of your actual tastes, but that's what stands out to me, when I think about your taste in gaming -- big MP shooters, lack of interest in SP/story-driven games, interest in Souls-type games. Except for that last bit, it seems like you'd be a better fit as an Xbox gamer. Why do you like Sony > MS?

I like Japanese made games the most just not anime like stuff/or Final Fantasy.(Prefer Fantasy Star)
Like SP games with coop (and PVP is a great bonus)
I don't think SP only games are worth retail price if they aren't long.
I do like Sony's story focused games more than anything on Xbox but Gears is a big Xbox game for me but so is Killzone 2/3. Uncharted 4 and Destiny are examples of complete packages as they offer everything and excel at all they do.

So Soulsborne games are my fav followed by Borderlands/Destiny style(luv loot but not Diablo) then Battlefield/Gears/Uncharted/Titanfall,Fighters SF/Tekken/KI/Soul Calibur types. Also the Zelda/Witchers/Side Scrolling 2D classic style action adventures(hold the pixels)

Those games are examples of what I like... not sure if they add up to me fitting the Xbox style more.
OG Xbox to mid gen 360....the Xbox was my format of choice and I feel many of the above types they covered THEN but are far from it these days.

If it sells millions....it would of sold millions more,it hurts them.

Ok, that makes more sense. I didn't realize you had a taste for the fighters and Japanese games. The Soulsborne games would be more in favor of Sony. The Borderlands/Destiny games could be either. The "Battlefield/Gears/Uncharted/Titanfall" games, sounds like you're talking mostly MP shooting here, would lean more toward Xbox in my head. The fighters would lean toward Sony. So overall a modest tilt toward Sony, but I could see you back in the Xbox camp if they expanded their catalog a little.

We have very different tastes. I'm mostly into RPGs and action-adventure games with strong stories and characters, and I don't like fighters, multiplayer shooters, or Souls-type games. We're similar in terms of preferring OG Xbox and first half Xbox 360, though.

12 minutes of Knack 2 gameplay. Combat is noticeably improved. Personally, I think I'd get tired of the gameplay. They've added moves, but I still don't see much gameplay variety (for example, compared to Crash Bandicoot). Maybe there's more variety outside this 12 minute clip, I don't know. And I still have a hard time finding Knack himself a likeable character, for some reason.

It looks much improved, I mean I'm still not going to get it lol but at least they gave it another shot and have fixed a bunch of the things that people didn't like about the first game. I'm also glad they aren't charging full price for it.

No cause its delayed.

It was never given a release timeframe until this E3, Sony never said when it was coming out it was just some comment by a Marvel exec who probably didn't even know.

Earlier you must of been talking about this...

"Vice president and executive editor of Marvel Digital Media Ryan Penagos confirmed that the PS4 exclusive Spider-Man game will release in 2017, stating during a livestream that "there's even more on the horizon for 2017 like Spider-Man coming to PlayStation 4 and Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC."

Expect more info and gameplay to be revealed at E3 2017."

Can't find the video or interview but I KNOW what I heard.

^sometimes it's like crying wolf with you, so we don't know when to believe you. In this thread, you lied, and then you supply the thread with proof that you knew Spiderman was delayed. Why the inconsistency?

I know exactly what you mean. And I know why.

Do you have a great friend, who you loved hanging out with and found them really lovely, but then they went and had a kid who turned out to be a complete c***?

Knack is that kid. He just looks like an arsehole child.

ha. Well, I thought more about it, and here's my take.

I like little Knack just fine. He's kind of cute. That's how it usually goes, in platformers like these -- if it's a robot, it's usually small and cute (think Wall-E or Clank of Ratchet & Clank).

My problem is with big Knack. He just comes off as a big, spikey galoot. Characters in these games are generally warm, fuzzy, and cute, little animals or little people -- Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet, Mario, etc. -- not big, spikey robots.

Plus, there's the fact that he's constantly disintegrating before your eyes into little metal parts. That serves as a constant reminder that he just a collection of parts, which makes it hard to see him as a real being and identify with him.

I mean, is that warm, fuzzy, cute, or likeable? It's more like ... just weird.

I know I heard it was set for 2017 not sure what bs you are talking about.
Crying wolf and I lied? Not sure what you are claiming

Been reflecting back on E3 and realized Sony really spoils us. I mean, they announced all those games last year and now people aren't happy that they showed gameplay? What should they have done. Shown more games 2-3 years out or something? According to Sony they had more games to show but took it easy on Microsoft. Let's not forget that they have other shows like PSX to reveal more games.

Not to mention, MS said they had more games to show, but they already had more games than Sony, so they cut Sony some slack

That's not how this works. Sony calls the shots. They have the most games by far. They get to pick and choose when to bludgeon the competition. I'll give you an A for effort though.

I strongly doubt MS has anything else or much at all to show.
Sony on the other hand being a Japanese brand is known to actually have things held off for other shows like the TGS and Sony cut its E3 short this year.

Yeah we've already seen the games that are coming before next E3, nearly all of which were announced quite some time ago. 343 and Coalition won't have anything to show this early. Maybe if they do attend one of the European shows they'll announce a side project from RARE but that'd be about it.

I stand corrected.

Yeah, that was a dumb thing for Quantic Dream to put on their twitter page (I think that's where it ran). Too much of the "nee ner, nee ner." They've taken it down.

The reality is Sony event was 2 hours.
They decided to not cram all the games in one conference wich is why the pre show lasted a full hour. They announced games like Hidden Agenda and showed Matterfall gameplay + release date.

You'd be a fool to think MS had more games than Sony. Especially when Sony has all the advantages.

At least for devs it makes sense they actually work for the company's. lol Anyway I think people take it too seriously it's all friendly competition with Sony an MS. I mean no one has thrown more shots than Phil but he has a Ps4 and enjoys it. They even live streamed HZD when it launched.
