Spider-Man

If they own the rights to live action Spiderman they own him.
If Disney owns the other rights they also own him.

I guess you're right to a certain extent. Let me provide a little context. In the 90s when Marvel was on the verge of Bankruptcy and looking for additional funding they came up with the idea of licensing their roster of characters. Sony got the live action rights to Spiderman and Fox got the rights to Xmen, Fantastic Four. These deals have clauses in them which state that if a movie is not made within a certain amount of time the rights revert back to the overall owner (Marvel).

Sony can do whatever they want with Spiderman live action movies. They can't make animation, games or anything else without permission from Marvel. Its was the same with Activision when they had the marvel deal and its why those Marvel games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance were pulled back in the day, the license expired. It was only when Activision went back to Marvel to renew the license that those games were re-released.

That looks interesting. I like the way they talk about "experimentation and improvisation" being the watchwords. I was wondering how combat would play out, and this gives me a better sense of it. Lots of possibilities.

They want to get you off the ground -- hovering, jumping around -- and using the environment. I was glad to hear it's move-based, not combo-based. I was also glad to hear "he's so much more than a brawler." I also liked hearing about the gadget wheel and the reference to Ratchet. I'll bet that wheel will have a bunch of unique, fun gadgets to mess around with.

They have a new short video clip, sadly it's not up on youtube yet and the GI video player is garbage.

I generally don't like these superhero games (except fighting games), but this game looks awesome.

But they never said no to a Switch, Atari or pc port...I think my iPhone can handle a port if it can run on Switch

The box says "Only on Playstation ".

Spider-Man is looking better and better the more I see it.

Aw yeah. Like the axe throwing in God of War i'm fully expecting the web swinging in Spider-Man to be fun. When did Sony become the kings of not only story telling but gameplay as well? Feel like i'm a on roll right now, but a game like God of War will do that to you. Nintendo and particularly Xbox always had a bit of an edge in gameplay whereas story went to Sony like i already said. I don't know, games like Halo and Gears were all about gameplay to me, now they're kinda falling behind relying on the same old same old.

I know. Another thread derailed by TD. Feel free to delete my posts Andy if you need to. Sorry, i just can't hold my tongue anymore. I love Xbox(can't you tell by the avatar, it's like the only way i know how to support Microsoft these days cause the exclusives aren't cutting it) but wake up already Microsoft. You need to make some big moves and fast!

In an area like this, if Spider-Man does anything aggressive, like spin a manhole cover over his head, most of the people hit the ground out of fear. It's a hilarious thing to see. Since I enjoyed watching them fall to the ground so much, I moved a block over and did the same thing, but this time with a trash can. To my surprise, when I flung it forward, it knocked a man down. At first I thought Insomniac changed its stance on Spider-Man not being able to harm civilians, but then he pulled a gun on me. It turns out he was a mugger that I unearthed just by messing around.

The area and line for this game are huge! I’m looking at it right now, and it looks like a ton of fun, but it’s not as impressive graphically as the videos shown so far. Or maybe it’s just the level they are playing.

Everything I've read/heard says the opposite but all of those people actually played it. Are you looking at it dead on or off to the side? you know how LCD tv's are with off angle viewing.

I'm more disappointed that Amazon has no versions of this game to pre-order. Seems their first party grudge with Sony continues.

I watched quite a bit of it directly behind the players. Not sure what TVs they were using.

GordoSan is here and I think we agreed on the visuals..?

Looks like a lot of fun though, I’ll be picking it up.
