Spielberg’s Halo To Start Production This Year RUMOR

Earlier last month, Showtime gave a small update on the long-awaited Halo TV series which has been in development for nearly four years. But it looks like the network is finally ready to move forward with the project’s production.

According to Production Weekly, filming of Steven Spielberg’s Halo miniseries will begin in fall this year. Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Alex Maggioni from Amblin Television are attached to the project as producers. So it’s safe to say the Ready Player Onedirector is still attached to the project as well.

I’m hoping this is true and that if it is, Microsoft can use it as an excuse to reboot Halo’s story the same way Nolan rebooted Batman. I’m good with a either an over the top comic book story or a more gritty and grounded story...but right now Halo is stuck in-between. Right now it’s super inconsistent and cheesy while taking itself super serious and trying to have a darker tone. Needs to make a choice.

I see. That movie seems more like a fantastical meta (video games in general) movie though. I want a Halo series to be more of a realist sci fi type of thing like Aliens or the first Starship Troopers movie.

It looks like Showtime’s Halo won’t disappoint fans with another delay in production. A recent update has revealed that the network is set to begin production on the series and also seems to have a location confirmed for filming.

According to Production Weekly, Halo series’ current filming status is set for this October. Furthermore, the listing has also revealed the filming location as Budapest, Hungary.
