Single Player - 6/10

Co op - 6/10

Blacklist Spies vs Mercs - 5/10

Team Deathmatch - 3/10

Extraction - 5/10

Classic Spies vs Mercs - 9/10

Should you buy it?

Yes. Without question.

So basically really buy it if you love classic spies vs. mercs? You make the other modes out to be just go-hum...

I don't know. It seems like a lot of people actually like the single player (and to a lesser extent the SvM Blacklist mode) but I can't stand either.

Single Player: Each level has about 50 annoying AI enemies that feel like their just there to slow your progress. There's just nothing new/fresh about this mode that makes me want to play it. With that being said, I think I have this problem with most single player games.

Spies vs Mercs Blacklist Mode: The original vision of Spies vs Mercs (Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory) was amazing. It seems like Ubisoft threw the essence of that multiplayer mode out the window and Call of Dutied it up to 11. 4 on 4 is less about stealth and communication and more about aggression and load outs (rock paper scissors).

Classic mode in this game isn't as good as the old one's but it's close enough to be amazing.

I enjoyed the Singleplayer a lot more than Conviction's. It's a step in the right direction for the franchise, but you have a tree blocking that road with the new "Sam Fisher" who looks and talks like a 25 year old.

I don't understand this criticism.

We're really knocking the new Splinter Cell because of a single player presentation choice? Michael Ironside certainly had a unique, and more enjoyable voice, but Sam Fisher has always been a dreadful character.

I really enjoyed the single player too and also had trouble getting used to the new "Sam". I loved Michael Ironside's Sam Fisher and this new version looked and sounded nothing like him. I wish they had given us some opportunities to have to interrogate once in awhile because some of that used to be humorous and funny (remember the "Are you a Ninja?" when Sam sneaks up and grabs one of them). This new Sam just seemed too stiff and seemed to mumble quite a bit. Maybe I'm just old and losing my hearing though! :p

I've been enjoying the game's SP. Haven't played MP yet. For me it is a buy if you like classic Splinter Cell games.

In Splinter Cell: Conviction I played the hell out of Deniable Ops. Does Blacklist have anything like that?

Maybe a single player version of the multiplayer modes?

This is a great game, both SP and MP. I also missed Ironside (more than I expected to honestly), but everything else was done very well.

@SmileBit: Have you played past Splinter Cell games? If so, did you enjoy those? It just sounds like maybe this isn't the genre for you. Just asking, as you didn't elaborate on what you disliked so much.

Game sucked. Was mighty ugly too.

Really? I think it is great but hate the loading. Graphically I think it looks decent to pretty good. Better than conviction for sure.

I haven't touched the MP but the SP on perfectionist was a treat for me. Being a long time since I've played a SC game and had to plan out or time certain parts. Game looked quite good on PC with everything maxed out. I would give it a 7\10 there were some welcomed improvements. My main gripe was sometimes you were just forced to take the kill as it was easier. The finale at site F was let down IMO.

Choas Theory is still my favorite in the franchise. So much fun trying to get perfect on every level. DA was meh and I beat conviction but can't remember anything about it now.

The voice actor is atrocious and the graphics and facial animations could use some work. But the level design and stealth intact. But the one button thing is annoying.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is amazing. It brings me back to the golden days of the franchise on the original Xbox.

Blacklist is what Conviction should've been as far as game play goes. The new look/voice of Sam Fisher kills the character. There wasn't a second that I thought I was playing as Sam Fisher in this game. The voice actor was terrible; sounded too young and lacked enthusiasm.

The look and sound of Sam Fisher didn't bother me all that much. I did miss the wit he brought though.

His daughter sounds older than him, it was...weird. It felt like he was talking to his girlfriend and not his daughter. I mean if you're going to provide a new look, voice, and agility (dude does some impossible parkour and physical feats despite being 56 *jack chan anyone). Might as well have just colored his hair black, give a different name and make him 28 or 30. Make him Sam Fishers protégé. I cant believe for one second that they thought no one would buy the game if sam fisher wasn't the main guy- instead decided to keep JUST the name, scrap everything else, and be A - OKAY. Seriously is Ubisoft r******d.

Are you playing this on PC by chance Smilebit? (under the name SmileBit199)

I've destroyed you multiple times in classic mode. In fact, you played like an a****** at one point because you knew you were beat. If you're not the same guy, I apologize :p

I thought the game looks great maxed out on PC. I got the game for free as it came with my GTX 770. Didn't get too far as I haven't be able to play it that much.
