Star Wars: The Last Jedi **Spoilerriffic Thread**

It's curious how finding Luke only became about Rey while forgetting how this all started with Lor San Tekka believing in the Force and Luke so much he was willing do die to protect the piece of the map to find him. Rey should have told Luke about this whole deal if she wanted to persuade him to come back.

WTF is this map even for or the other piece installed in R2-D2 if Luke didn't even want to return ever?

I wish his Force Ghost should up as a Post Credit scene asking 'What the f*** is this s***?' .

Rian Johnson may be the right person for a new trilogy but he was clearly a terrible choice for this movie. Disney should have stepped in.

I think there's a little more to it. I think what the film meant to say was that if Luke goes off and builds the Jedi Order up, that evil will just rise up to meet it. Snoke says something very similar to (and about) Rey. Darkness rises and light rises to meet it.

There's a supposed cut scene which explains this a bit more.

"According to the site, which confirmed the information with multiple sources, after Luke and Rey talk about the history of the Jedi, boats are seen coming to Ahch-To. Rey inquires and Luke says they’re bandits who regularly terrorize the Caretakers. Outraged, Rey says she wants to help, but Luke tells her if she helps, they’ll come back stronger and in greater numbers next time. A true Jedi would let it happen and keep the balance."

Luke in the movie isn't a "quitter". He knows if he rises up that it will just make the other side stronger. That makes the ending make a lot more sense too.

So let the First Order rule the galaxy and let your sister die. Good plan Luke.

A storyline that looks even worse since Luke did step up in the end. So his quitting is even more pointless.

Seriously tho, Luke is going to be a force god in IX.

If Yoda be throwing lighting as a force ghost, can't wait to see what Luke does lol.

Here's how one of my friends explained it: He was helping Luke search for Jedi artifacts before TFA. Afterward he just had the map to the first Jedi temple, which is where Luke was viewed to be hiding.

Luke didn't step up though, all he did was bought them some time to escape. He could have come back and really fought Kylo. Of course they are ultimately setting up the obvious face off in the next movie between Kylo and Rey too.

Luke is talking about the force, the light and dark side. The First Order and Rebellion are obviously linked to a side, but not the same thing. Luke doesn't want to bring the Jedi back.

I'm not saying people have to love it, but that there's a subtle point that people might be missing. Del Toro's character even says something like "next time they'll blow you up". It just seems like a never ending cycle of conflict.

I think the big problem is the kind of big plothole with the whole space battle. The First Order isn't exactly in great shape at the end either. I think they had to give it a little more "Empire" type ending.

Why does Luke need to make a choice between bringing the Jedi back and doing nothing?

Also I don't think it was all that subtle. People caught it and just think its s***.

I get the comments about the b-plot being a bit useless. It was fine for finns character development but the whole thing kinda stood out, out of place. Lack of any recognizable aliens was ridiculous.

There was some good scenes, but overall it was fine. Meh.

I am going to believe that Luke felt responsible for Ben becoming Kylo and that he felt that if he confronted him (or Snoke) that it might just push him even further (and irrevocably) down the dark side. He might have been right, too - when he was out in the fighter and could tell his mother was on the frigate, he didn't fire.

It was definitely a movie that changed some of the Star Wars tropes. When Finn and company get into the room where they could have disabled the hyperspace tracker, in a Lucas Star Wars movie, that s*** would happen. I kind of like that it didn't.

But of course, I still have to say f*** them all for Jar Jar, and f*** them all for making Anakin even more of a teenage princess than Leia was (and she was bad-ass about it), and f*** them all for doing a trilogy set after the original trilogy that wasn't the Thrawn series. At least there's a new series of novels with him, and he's still the best damn villain in the series other than Vader.

I hope there’s some better cameos from the “Rebels” series. Chopper, the Ghost and a literal shout out to Hera was neat. I just hope we get to see a grizly Ezra in the next one. Oh anyone else see Iden, from battlefront two just chilling in the bg, of the bridge, during the announcement of Leia’s condition.

Plasma was such a underutilized character. General Hux got more camera time other than the fight.

Well I finally went and saw it and I thought it was great.

I can't believe people are upset about anything really.

The Luke vs Kylo scene was awesome and it's GOOD that it killed Luke because that's what it takes for me to buy in that what he did is possible. If he didn't die from that it would be ridiculous as why wouldn't all jedis start doing that s***. I also felt like it was nice to see Luke, but I wouldn't really want to see him mixing about with all the other characters.

He'll be back in spiritual form to help Rey and that's all that's needed IMO.

I think Last Jedi was as good as you can expect from Star Wars. Going into it hearing negative rumblings but not knowing what those things were that people were upset about, I completely enjoyed the film, can't wait for the next one.

Internet always going to internet. It’s annoying.

Stupid people having opinions that I don't agree with. Stop that Internet!

Maybe Mark Hamill is secretly the internet?
