Official Thread Street Fighter 5

Would you buy a PS4 if Sony was losing money on the console? That way you are at least sticking it to them.
Nope, will never pay any sort of money for anything Sony, I even check who makes the panels on the TVs I buy, I don't pay for Sony pictured films either.

No it isn't.

are you sure of that ? I mean sales numbers I see for games Like SF 2 turbo on SNES and SF 4 last-gen are below the 6 million is tomb raider sales of last gen. The original Street fighter was a behemoth, comparable to today's GTA and COD franchises, but since then, seems its popularity as far as consoles go is very far away from comparable.

Ha, okay, this is pretty out there. Mind explaining why?

Sales is not the only thing that matters, perception is what matters. If people think PS is the place for fighting games then that is just another reason for them not to buy the xbox.

but that was not the point of discussion, popularity is the point of the discussion.

I don't know about sales but when you have people playing coast to coast competitions where they are broadcast with large money payouts I would think SF would be more popular. Tomb Raider is more visible due to the media, but I still think SF is the more played and popular game. Easily.

I really can't speak to popularity, but I can say if SFV is exclusive to PS4 and PC, then that will establish PS4 as the system for tournaments. I 100% believe the next version of SFV, which will probably come out a year after SFV, will be on X1, but by that time, the tournaments will all have PS4s, so I can see it become the "fighters" system.

Fighting games are certainly few and far between right now, with only Injustice on PS4 and KI on X1, but with GGXrd coming out next week, and now SFV, it's nice to see the genre getting some current gen attention.

Yes, it's about time.

Sony is a s***ty company who I believes deserves to die; and no I don't give a damn about who loses their job when they go down.
They have been making s***ty products for decades and over pricing them. I still have a piece of metal stuck in my knuckle bone from the s***ty ass egg remotes they made in the late 90s.

People talk about MS' bad business practices but Sony is worse; root kits, storing personal data in plain text, paying shills to bad mouth MS or just outright badmouthing MS to devs, creating fake movie reviewers, etc.

And as far as people saying MS is bad for paying for exclusives, they must have not been born in or forgot about the ps2 xbox era.

Go on.

Sony doesn't pay for exclusives though, right?

To me, just like the TR deal, I don't mind third party exclusives. Business and stuff.

I doubt anybody could argue that it is a more popular e-sport, but surely if your opinion is correct then sales would support it, right ? Even if that is not right its popularity in this case does not seem relevant.
