Suggest a TV, and back it up!

I am currently loving my 39" Samsung LED 1080p TV I got last year on black friday (it replaced my 32 Sony Bravia 720p I got in '08 ).

I'm looking at a small TV for my bedroom. Maybe around 32-36" at $400 tops. Any suggestions welcome. I see tons of Samsung, LG and Insignia brands. A handful of Sony, Philips, and Toshiba I see too.

Going to be used for 360 gaming (as I get next gen for the main tv), so I need one that won't ghost/have slow response time..... although maybe LCD/LED time has improved so much now people don't have to worry about response time? I see tons of these smaller cheap tvs as 60 hz, with a few at 120 hz. Will it make a difference for console gaming?

All I can say is what I said over at TXB.... Edge Lit LED/LCD, Back Lit Full Array/Local Dimming LED/LCD and Direct lit LED/LCD are not the same.

If you want a superb picture go with Back lit/Full Array and avoid Edge Lit LED/LCD.

Problem is they are hard to come by these days.
Samsung doesn't make em anymore(unless you count the $40000 model) Nor does Sony.

If you can't find one then get a Direct Lit LED/LCD if you can over a Edge Lit.

Damn I just bought my VT50 in Dec, Might have to order a VT60 so I have the best of the best until OLED sets are affordable.

Also, after a little research, it turns out that the 360 DOES pass 1080p over component (didn't realize that was possible) the problem is the TV's won't accept 1080p over component, I think because of piracy concerns. Since the 360 doesn't play BluRays I guess they didn't have to restrict what passed over the component cables.

Yep, I was able to watch HD-DVD on my Sammy LCD in 1080p through component via 360.

Have you checked out the ZT60? Coming down in price, and I'm betting it'll be sub 2k after the Super Bowl. Almost the same picture as the VT, but better angle-viewing, and a slightly brighter picture. I checked one out in the Magnolia area of Best Buy....pretty amazing!

I have its a beautiful set, the main feature that sets it apart from the VT is a better anti glare filter. My Home theatre room is pretty dim though which is why I will just go with the VT. Both amazing sets.
