Super Mario Odyssey (Oct. 27)

Then goodnight Nintendo. I can "switch" my cellphone to my TV with the push of a button on my phone ("smartview" for those in the dark) and I'm good to go for any of my many FREE mobile games. Easier. Cheaper. Better.

Price point puts it in competition with the other two. Although it will generally be looked at as a secondary console.
The Xbox One released in 2013. So price point isn't a factor. Nintendo doesn't compete in the same space.

Nintendo Switch $300
Xbox One S $300
PS4 $300

All 3 video gaming machines.

Kassen says price point NOT a factor and not competing in same space. You can't make this stuff up.:crazy:

The NVIDIA Shield cost $300 at launch too. I don't mind if you like using terms so loosely. But don't you think it's kind of weird you are trying to compare the graphics power of the Xbox One to a gaming tablet?

A gaming tablet promoted by Nintendo as a dock and play system on your TV. Complete with a dock included in the box.

And going by tests and previews, docked mode can improve the game with better res. So it gives gamers incentive to play on a tv since the visuals will be improved upon.

Since the system has an awful online interface where you need to use a cellphone app beside you, the most convenient place to play will be at home (whether it's docked or someone is playing mobile in another room), since the cellphone needed for online play can be safely and easily placed beside you on a couch or table as opposed to gaming on the go where if you do online, you have to fiddle with the cellphone app back and forth in your pocket if you don't have a place to set the phone down for periods of time.

That looks really fun and inventive.

I'm glad I held off on buying the Switch until now as I was able to hold off on the hype for this game, Mario Kingdom Battle, etc. But now I need these games.

No word if it's still in the game

cry babies

The worst part is that the bulk of those people who cry about that kind of thing are not from the cultures they cry about. We should be sharing cultures and bringing ourselves together. This weird desire to divide people by race and culture only inhibits understanding and empathy. Of course, I think it's more a issue of trying to elevate themselves and virtue signal more than "defending" other cultures.

Having a positive, fun experience utilizing elements of other cultures- even in jest- dissolves barriers and allows people to identify with and normalize people and customs that may be outside their experience, making it unifying even if on a subconscious level.

The constant outrage only takes these cultural things and places it in the "other" category, which is the very thing these people cite as a root issue. It annoys me to no end.

Actually better than the ps4 and definitely better than the Xbox One.

Two sides to that coin. Sony and MS stopped chasing that cartoony look when they pulled out of the platformer 'market' (which is npe just indies and Mario)just like Nintendo pulled out of photorealism after 2005

Even so you can easily compare it to Ratchet redux and sunset. Its great art and suits Nintendo to a tee. But hey Horizon has better art then Ark Evolve, but at max settings Ark makes Horizon look a generation behind.

Wow looks like Zelda has some stiff competition for GOTY, cant wait for Oct 27th.

Anyone know where to find the Collectors Edition? I've only heard about it but know that I'd love to have it, especially if there is a steelbook.

With all the Moon references in the game, I wonder if it will be a playable stage at some point in the game?

It looks like alot of the skyboxes in the game have the moon in them day or night.

Idk, just throwing some speculative conspiracies out there.

Only thing I can find is a collector's edition guide? Other than that I know some pre-orders will get you the eye hat... thing. Either way I really don't need to be tempted by a collector's edition. The one for Fire Emblem Warriors and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 both look great. I'd pay an extra $5 a game if I could just get steelbooks honestly.
