Deadly Premonition’s Hidetaka Suehiro will announce his first new game in three years at PAX Seattle

"Jason Howley, of Mega64 and Neighborhood Games Club, has announced on Twitter that he will be hosting a panel with Swery65 on the Saturday of PAX Seattle (September 1-4), during which the creator will show off his next game."

I was big fan of Deadly Premonition. Sounds like he's been on a strange trip since D4 wrapped. Glad to have him back.

Reactions: The Wolf King
I've been catching up on what's been going on with him. Apparently, he took a year off after D4, due to health reasons. He said it was "reactive hypoglycemia." I wonder if stress with Access games or the D4 project contributed. He did not return to Access Games. He became a certified Buddhist monk. Then, earlier this year, he opened a new game studio, White Owls.

I hope it goes more smoothly for him this time. I felt like Deadly Premonition was a surprise hit for him, then he ran into trouble with D4. Whether that was the forced motion controls or problems with Access, or both, I don't know. Although many people liked it (I had mixed feelings myself), it didn't sell well, which was no doubt a disappointment. Also, I think Swery is a weird, unique guy, it must've been tough for him to deal with the business end of game development, the suits, etc.

Anyhow, I hope it goes well for him this time around. He's certainly one of the more unique voices in the gaming industry. I look forward to seeing what he's cooking up.

Swery is a interesting guy. I follow him on instagram and he loves to post about what he's eating/drinking. Part of me wants him to make a game about that exact thing.
