Tokyo Game Show runs September 21 to 24.

Sony's press conference will be on Sept. 19.

Announcements will of course be Japan-centric. Sony has Playstation Experience in December, so they'll want to hold the Western style announcements for that.

No idea what to expect for this as you have said Andy they have PSX and they also have PGW too so some first party announcements might be held.

PGW, that's right.. I had a feeling I was forgetting one. That's Oct. 30th.

So yeah, this will undoubtedly be Japan-centric and little else. Which is fine. Japanese games are making a resurgence, so we may see something interesting (along with a bunch of stuff that makes us shake our heads).

It will really depend on how strong other Japanese devs are. We've had so many great Japanese games recently so it could be pretty uneventful really. I mean Japan Studio did show GR2 in 2015 so they could possibly be ready but they have released Knack 2 and Everybody's golf and they were announced in PSX lol. Yep, I am thinking this really will be on the low for exciting announcements.

I can't think of anything I care to see from this show other than the SoTC remake.

d00d some potentially good Japanese games could be shown...
This>E3

I really don't like many games that come from there. The only thing I've cared for in the last 5 years was Dragon's Dogma.

Nice to see Final Fantasy 9 was announced/released but what happened to 8? And why is it more than double the price of the PS3/Vita version? And why is it $5 more than FF7 PS4?

- Otome Games ports (Hakuoki, Code Realize)
- Idolmaster Stella Stage

Here are a few TGS trailers:

Left Alive

This is coming to PS4/Steam in 2018. It is described as a single player "survival action shooter."

Press: "Veteran developers, Toshifumi Nabeshima (director, Armored Core series), Yoji Shinkawa (character designer, Metal Gear series), and Takayuki Yanase (mech designer, Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Xenoblade Chronicles X) join forces to create Left Alive's dark and gritty world."

Monster Hunter World

It apparently has a beefy story mode this time around. Main focus will be on 4 player co-op, though. Release date given: Jan 26, 2018.

Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner

A remake of the second ZoE game. 4K, HDR. VR support.

Earth Defense Force 5

Defend the Earth a fifth time from giant insects and whatever else they can cram on screen. There's another EDF game coming in 2018, too. That one is more serious; this one is the usual goofy EDF stuff. I like that they didn't bother to remove the jank from the trailer.

Not sure about pricing but FF8 doesn't get the fanfare that FF7 and FF9 get. 8 was always my favorite back in the day. Doubt it had half the demand of 9. Sure they'll release it next.
