Sony's pre-TGS show just ended. Here's an overview.

Trailers

Game announcements

"Sega’s Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio [that's the Yakuza studio] has announced Judge Eyes: Shinigami no Yuigon for PlayStation 4. It will launch on December 13 in Japan, Asia, and Korea, and in the west in 2019. A demo will be available today in Japan."

"Project Prelude Rune, the first game from Square Enix’s Hideo Baba-led Studio Istolia (former Tales creator), will be released for PlayStation 4."

Here's a brief trailer for Project Prelude Rune, the game just announced from the new Square Enix studio, the one from the developer that did the Tales games. Looks nice, though it's very early stuff.

"Hideo Baba, perhaps best known as a recurring producer for Bandai Namco's Tales series, started up his own game development studio under Square Enix last year. Formed as Studio Istolia, the team's first title is currently known as Project Prelude Rune, and it got a teaser trailer at Sony's PlayStation LineUp Tour earlier today in Japan.

"As we've come to expect of Square Enix and its Japanese-developed games, this seems like a very early reveal, but it at least looks the part. It's being crafted using Unreal Engine 4, and it appears to feature a large, explorable world."

Then there's Project Awakening. It reminds me of Monster Hunter.

Project Awakening is currently in development for PlayStation 4, and has been confirmed for a Japanese and western launch. A release date has not been confirmed at this point.

Here's another one. Monkey King: Hero is Back. It's a brawler-platformer from a Chinese dev. Looks like it's an exclusive. Kind of silly.

Kinda looks like their take on valkyria chronicles art style.

I'm feeling warmer towards Japanese games since getting into Yakuza. I might give some of these a whirl.
