I don't know who to cheer for in this one. I really don't like the Pats and Brady but being a Cowboys fan, I think my hate of the Eagles is greater.

Nailed it!

However, the success of Matt Cassell, Jacoby Brissett, and Jimmy Garoppolo in their short stints with the Patriots solidify this guy as the GOAT QB...

yeah right

If you take Manning and Brady off their teams, most would agree that the Colts offense would suffer significantly more. Look at the data. Patriots haven't missed much of a beat when Brady was out.

The Patriots have also had significantly better defenses than the Colts throughout both QBs tenures.

Manning would have been a HoF QB no matter where he went. How long do you think Brady would have been in the league if he was drafted by someone like Buffalo?

Fix the catch rule in the offseason. If Ertz's TD was ruled a catch, Dez's should have been too. Jessie James as well.

Finally Tom Brady paid back that Karma for the tuck rule fumble.

Ditto for Rodgers, and a few others.

Thanks for this. That’s what I’ve been saying forever. Their offensive line is incredibly talented and gives him a ton of time, Belicheck is a football genius, he has 6’ 5” Neanderthal Gronk to throw to down the middle all the time, and a they have a great offensive coordinator.

He’s a great player, and mentally tough. But the entire ‘machine’ makes Brady better than he is. On any other team there is no way in Hell he puts up anywhere near the numbers he’s put up.

Good game. Now fix the catch rule. Pats supposedly get all the calls then get robbed in Super Bowl? Okay, we'll call it even.

Didnt they still only get called for 1 penalty? Lol

Lets not even talk about that pushoff on the Eagles last two point conversion attempt that was obvious.

Even if they didn't rule that he was a runner by that time, it may not have popped out of his arms until after he started coming back up. Too difficult to see clearly to overturn.

There is no question the catch rule sucks but by the rule it was a catch

Neither of those Eagles touchdowns were catches by the rule. They should be catches but by rule they're not. Pats got the benefit against the Jets and Steelers but not in the game that counts. Inconsistent.

The Ertz TD is for sure a TD. He takes 3 steps and clearly becomes a runner. The other TD is much closer but probably not clear enough to overturn but I would probably have said the same about the Jesse James TD.

Yup, i agree. It's like they changed the rule overnight though because of the backlash. NFL is so reactionary. Dez Bryant's catch called a no catch years ago was a terrible call. Fix the rule and stick to it.

Belicheck is a football genius

That genius benched Butler for some scrub due to unknown reasons. Sounds like Belichick is thinking about stepping down and giving McDaniels the job. Reports say McDaniels isn't sold on becoming Colts head coach. I think it would be good for the team. So would have keeping Garroppolo. 3 more years of Brady or 13 of Jimmy G? I would have just paid Jimmy and waited for Brady to retire.

Oh and big lol about Peyton. Put his lanky ass on the Browns and let him get hit a few times and he would have been out of the game fast. Brady's an iron man. He takes punishment and keeps coming back for more. Peyton gets hurt and suddenly he has a noodle arm. Not even close in comparison. Brady destroys Manning and proved again tonight why he's the GOAT. 505 yards, broke his own record. System QBs don't throw for 500 yards in the Super Bowl. Especially when they're missing 2/3rds of their best targets. Edelman out for the year and Cooks out of the game early. Try again though.

OMG for the safety of philly fans maybe they should have lost.

Great game. I love lots of passing and scoring. The QBs were airing it out right from the beginning.

I just caught the Trophy Ceremony. Did they really have Darrel Green out there presenting the Lombardii Trophy to the Eagles?

Didn’t you read the ESPN article? Brady won that argument, and sold Kraft on him still being the QB for the next few years. Belichick didn’t want that, and was trying to prepare for the future, but in the end Brady wins, and Garroppolo gets traded. Good for him, he’ll be better off.

As far as the rest goes, the previous point stands. Throw out all the numbers you want, but when Brady was out the Patriots did just fine. He’s great, but the team makes him a better player.

Look what happened to Dallas when Elliott got suspended, or Green Bay when Rodgers got hurt.

If Brady had gotten hurt and missed this season, and Garrappalo hadn’t been traded, I’d bet the Pats would still have made it to the SB. Their team is just that good.

And Brady sure as sh*t doesn’t get hit that often. The Offensive line gives him far more time and protection than any other QB in football. Most of the teams that beat them did so by hitting him often. It throws off his game, it just doesn’t happen very often because the O line is too solid.

All I’m saying is too much credit goes to Brady, and not enough to the supporting cast.

I agree with this.

Brady is a good QB. He's accurate, hardly ever gets injured, and he has an excellent sense when and when not to pass (hence his very low interceptions, and high pass accuracy %).

However, as you said his offensive line is incredible. Despite being among the slowest QBs I've seen with zero scrambling skills, he still hardly ever gets sacked. So it shows his o-line protects him very well. Manning's o-line has been very good too. His sack number is even better (lower).

Never the less, his passing skills and durability are excellent, so at the end of the day he is still a top notch QB.
