The 2017 NFL Season Thread

Congrats to the Jags. What a pathetic showing by the Steelers Defense.

On to Foxborough! (And I'll be damned, I think there were four TD passes Ben threw that were damn near perfect coverage and just even better throws and catches. Didn't think it was possible to complete those, but gotta just tip your hat to that offense.)

NE got called for only 1 penalty. Trash league.

Yup. It’s been laughable for awhile now. Not only do they hardly take penalties, at least half of the ones on the other teams are questionable.

I live in NE and find the whole thing embarrassing, honestly.

Nuff said.

Hope the Vikings win. We already beat the Eagles over a decade ago. I want fresh blood and the battle to be fought on their turf. Then there will be no doubt in anyone's mind that TB12 is the GOAT. Even the haters will be forced to come to terms. First home game in Super Bowl history but we cheat? Stack the deck and we will conquer. To the pit of misery!

Don't look that way. Eagles looking hot right now.

Ehh, it’s not just Brady. Without Belicheck, the rest of the coaching staff, an offensive line that gives him 5+ seconds per snap, rules that protect the QB more, Gronkowski, he’s not putting up those numbers.
His supporting cast doesn’t get enough credit, and Brady barely gets touched.

Put him on any other team see how he does.

Plus, Brady’s an assh*le. He was in talks several years ago to buy my dad’s buddy’s house in Southern Mass...and let just say he’s as much of a prick as you think he’d be.

Please, lol. Brady has had a terrible supporting cast historically. Besides the defense during their first 3/4 year run of winning Super Bowls and the 07 team with Moss he's done more with less than any other star QB. Gronk or Edelman hurt every year. If Hernandez didn't go to jail the Pats would have won 5 straight. Sure he's had good coaches. So did Jordan, Kobe, Duncan and other greats in sports.

Absolutely loving the salt on the internet. The Pats are about to win 3/4 again over a decade later. Uncharted territory and Brady's 6th ring will officially make him the MJ of football and arguably the greatest athlete that ever lived. Pick 199, skinny, slow... he wasn't supposed to do this. People need to wake up and just give him his due.

I'm glad we have confirmation from you that Brady is an assh*le. MJ was an assh*le. Kobe's character was questioned. If you're not an assh*le, you won't accomplish anything in life. To be the best, you have to want it. Brady acts very humble considering all his success in the face of incessant trolls and haters. Remember during the Pats first run the excuse was he's a system QB. Now the excuse is he cheats and the Pats pay off the refs. LOL.

Brady is great but Belichick is the GOAT

I don't think anyone thinks they paid the refs but when you get 1 penalty and a ref is the first to congratulate Brady when the game ends its a bad look.

As much as I hate the Pats and Brady you gotta give credit to them.

Or the NFL makes it easier for their success and wants them in the SB. Your call....

I'm not a football expert, but going from what I see, here's my sum up of Brady:

- Seems like a nice guy, down to earth and the complete opposite of arrogant loud athletes
- Awesome stats. Consistently good stats through out his career
- Some people will say it's because he's on a good team, and that is definitely some part of it. Brady is slow, and it seems a high school QB has better scrambling skills, yet he doesn't get sacked a lot or pressured like other QBs
- However, he also rarely throws interceptions. So it shows his accuracy and decision making to throw a pass is excellent
- Not a very athletic QB, but very durable. Hardly gets injured

As a Jags fan who also despises the Patriots, you do have to give it to the Pats. While the officiating was abysmal (this was at least the third time this season that an early whistle on an untouched recovery prevented a possible defensive touchdown on a turnover for the Jags), you have to knock out the champ and they couldn't do so.

Brady is the greatest winner in the history of the NFL. He's a straight up murderer. I hope the Pats win.
Not the way they played last night. Eagles mopped the Vikings with ease and Vikings are not an easy team. If the Eagkes keep play like they way they did last night they have a very good chance to win it.

Nothing would be better than having the awful Philadelphia fans not win anything.

Nailed it!

However, the success of Matt Cassell, Jacoby Brissett, and Jimmy Garoppolo in their short stints with the Patriots solidify this guy as the GOAT QB...
