We all have them, figured we have one giant thread where we discuss everything. I'm an Apple guy through and through. I have an iPhone, iPad Pro, MacbookPro (Retina), iMac 27" 5K, and Apple Watch. I've exclusively used iPhones since iPhone 3g. I just watched the below vid on the Razer phone, it's looks slick as hell. If I wasn't so entrenched in Apple's ecosystem I'd consider getting the Razer immediately!

I've zero interest in using my phone for gaming. While I'm an avid Mac user I've jumped between Android and iPhone for my smartphones over the years. At this stage there is very little between them but I'm back leaning toward Apple again, especially since they now let you delete those default apps I never used.

I have Android Moto Z and a big ass ASUS Tablet on my plan.

Not sure I'd say there is anything special about the Apps. It ran Google Earth well on both devices which was extremely useful for truck driving and navigation as well as weather warnings and weather radar.

It is nice and light weight and I like how it Turbocharges off the adapter.

Recently upgraded to the Google Pixel 2. Came over from the Galaxy S6 so quite a nice change. Galaxy was alright in general (battery was garbage, overall was slow eventually) and I'm sure the S8 would have been nice but felt like I needed something different. Not a big Google person overall aside from using Chrome but I like the ecosystem so far and the OS is really sleek and fast.

I have an LG G4 that as soon as my 2 year contract was up I switched carriers for the best deal I could get which is $35 a month for overkill on everything.

No idea what my next phone will be. They're at the point now that even my old ass G4 is just fine for everything.

I like android because I'm still a desktop guy (HTPC actually) and that is the base of all my stuff, music, video, photo etc and I like being able to just drag and drop files oldschool vs streaming and cloud s***.

Not into iTunes etc. but iPhones certainly have better software, I'm just never going to get into that ecosystem because of the limitations.

I guess I'd go for a Note 8 if I felt I needed a new phone right now, but I'll wait for next years offerings.

i just got a Galaxy Note 8 three days ago. Upgraded from an Galaxy 7 Edge so I wasn't expecting much. Boy was I wrong. This thing amazes me with all the new features (that I know of so far). Love that it uses the same charger as my Switch so now I can charge that when I'm on the go too.

lol yea after going from a phone with the micro USB to one with USB-C and no phone jack I was a little disappointed. To be honest I gave Apple s*** for starting that trend and while the phone comes with the adapter, it's been in my car ever since. A couple times I think I'll listen to music while I'm cleaning and remember I don't have the adapter handy. I did get a $25 off bluetooth headset from Verizon so guess I'll have to get a cheaper one. Anyways the charging cable the Pixel came with is USB-C to USB-C so I'm thinking I'll have to buy a damn cable so I can connect it to my PC to grab music. In comes the Switch with the save as I had purchased their chargeable Joy-con controller which comes with a USB 2 to USB-C cable.

If usb-c is capable then let everything become usb-c please.

I ALWAYS guess wrong, no matter what when I'm trying to hook up my phone, controller, power, regardless of which end I'm dealing with.

Just got a Pixel 2 XL.

Before this I has a galaxy S4, so it's a night and day difference going from a 4-5 year old phone to pretty much the best phone on the market. It's awesome.

Still have my galaxy S7 and i wont be buying a new phone unless it breaks or the battery takes a turn for the worse. Smartphones dont evolve from year to year as much as they used to.

Perfectly fine with my Galaxy S8+. Was tempted to get the S9+ until I realized it wasn't really a big upgrade at all.

My f***ing LG G4 just died tonight at work. It froze (it has never froze) and wouldn't turn off holding down the power button so I popped the back off and took the battery out and put it back in and it just wouldn't reboot completely for two tries. After that it won't even turn on or accept a charge. I just replaced the battery last week and I'm kind of suspicious that the new battery somehow caused this. But it won't work with the old battery either (which was still working, just not lasting as long as it used to)

f***! I'm mad because I've been off contract for over a year with this and I'm still fine with the phone and have been paying $38/month for everything I could want, 3GB data unlimited everything....

My options are to start paying $100 a month for the same s*** subsidizing a new top end phone and having to pay around $300 up front, or outright buying a new phone and keeping my $38/month contract.

Thing is all these new phones cost like $1000 or more now, wtf is going on?

I'm going to have to resort to seeing if my old Galaxy S2 can work with my sim card and use that for a bit just to be able to keep in touch with people while I figure out wtf I'm going to do, but I need to go get an adapter from my carrier tomorrow I guess.

It's a very strange feeling being smartphone-less even for a couple hours which is kind of sad but that's what it's like now......

My Moro Z is on life support. The battery holds no charge, so I keep it going with a Blackweb USB external battery.

If its to much hassle to fix, I might go Jacinto my old LG Vista.

I don't know what it's like in the USA but in Canada phone prices and contracts have gone completely f***ed in just the last 6 months.

It was always bad here in Canada (we have the highest prices in the world for phones and contracts apparently)

Here's how f***ed it is. Back at Christmas I was actually considering getting a LG V30 or a Google Pixel 2 XL and giving up my current amazing monthly plan that's $38/month for unlimited text/call and 3GB data.

To do that I would have to switch carriers which means I'd have to pay $95/month (my work gets me 25% off that so it would be like $70/month?)

And up front I would have to pay $200 for the V30 and $350 for the Pixel 2 XL.

It's now almost mid 2018, nearly half a year later, and if I want either of those phones I have to pay $300 for the LG V30 or $450 for the Pixel 2 XL up front and agree to a minimum of $105/month......

It used to be up here, that after maybe 3 months of a phone coming out, you'd have no up-front cost to get the phone and the minimum per month contract would be maybe $65 to $80 depending on data. I can't even get a f***ing LG G6 without paying like $95/month for 2 years.

Sorry, needed to rant.

Anyway, so I ended up buying a used (but apparently 9/10) LG V20 off eBay from a dealer in NYC that seems pretty popular for $200 so I can keep my current monthly contract of $38. Wish me luck guys because who knows what I'm getting you know?

I've popped my sim card into my old Samsung Galaxy SII and it's f***ing hilarious to say the least. Plays music great though I will say that just popped my 64gig microSD card in there and nice my music is there at least.

I just think it sucks that any desirable phone costs $1000 or more to buy outright and the cheaper phones are seriously low end s*** that I wouldn't trade my old LG G4 for and yet those cost a couple hundred bucks.

There's no good mid-range phones available on contract from the carriers up here in Canada it's either go all in and pay $100/month or figure something else out which I'm hoping I've done.

Yeah, my S8+ still feels new to me after a year plus a little. Maybe because it was so ahead of the status quo, with the edge display and all. They made it so good that there's rally no reason to upgrade. My only complaint has been the pointless inclusion of the "Bixby Button". :smash: Otherwise, it's a perfect phone with an amazing camera!

Good luck. Maybe that deal will work out. It's been a year for me, but last I checked, the mid-range options were lacking in the US as well. The contracts are very different than they used to be.

Oneplus 6 was announced yesterday and it's a pretty nice looking phone with really great spec for the price.

Finally got my LG V20 in the mail (2 1/2 weeks from NYC to Toronto is ridiculous but oh well)

It has a pretty good ding on the upper left corner but is otherwise in perfect condition. Still had the plastic on the screen.

The phone is f***ing so much better than I was expecting. I'm over the moon with it and it just feels great to get a massive upgrade on a phone for only $214 ($300 canadian) and get to keep my $38/month contract.

Hopefully it lasts me 2 years minimum. It's really a killer phone. Second screen is awesome, removable battery, 5.7" screen (it's a big phone, which I like) IR blaster, HiFi DAC for the headphone/aux jack (which is very noticeable sound improvement)

I already put a case on it and it completely covers the ding on the corner, which isn't even very noticeable but still. Wow I'm going to be getting my phones from eBay for now on. I think the seller is EMB-phones if anyone is curious about checking them out.

Apparently, my constant music stream to a Bluetooth speaker killed my battery. I went to the local Verizon dealer about the issue and they made it sound like I had to give them my phone so it could be mailed to a tech who could install the new battery and then I could get it back. It just kind of freaks me out that they can handle swapping SIM Cards or activating phones, but they can't change a freakin battery in their store.

Oh well, I guess in the future I'll want another music gadget for work if non-stop Pandora ate up my battery life.

Have to retire my LG G3. The battery is going faster and faster each day. Plus, it's just old. I'll hold off until another month or so. I love technology, but it stops with phones. I only see them more as a necessity.

I never have any brand attachment. I have an iPhone & Ipad, but they are well made. If I buy a Merc for my next car, I will complete the trilogy of owning cars from all the 3 major German car brands. I have switch from 360 to Ps4 to now mainly PC.

I used to only buy only logitech mices, but now I am using...Logitech G502.. Well I did used the optical mouse from MS when it first launch. It was the most advance mouse by a landslide, & it had red lights on the bottom!

Back to Phone. I am due for a new phone, since my contract period already ended, but seriously, I don't feel my phone need upgrades. Using iphone 6 by the way,.

I caved. Tmobile gave me 357 dollars for my Galaxy S7 as a trade in toward the Galaxy Note 9.
