Keith Richards Explains How He Got Rid Of Trump Nearly 30 Years Ago

Guitarist Keith Richards was once so angry at Donald Trump that he pulled out a knife ― when the future president wasn’t in the room ― and stabbed a table.

The rock icon told the BBC that back in 1989, Trump was the promoter of the Rolling Stones’ “Steel Wheels” tour dates in Atlantic City. When the band arrived, however, they found Trump’s name in huge letters and the band’s name in much smaller type.

I got out my trusty blade, stuck it in the table and said: ‘You have to get rid of this man!’” Richards told the BBC. “Now America has to get rid of him. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!”

Concert promoter Michael Cohl told a version of Richards’ story in 2015, saying Trump had agreed to host a pay-per-view event featuring the Stones in Atlantic City. But the band wanted nothing to do with him ― and when Trump turned up, Richards ordered Cohl to get rid of him.

“Keith pulls out his knife and slams it on the table and says, ‘What the hell do I have you for? Do I have to go over there and fire him myself?” Cohl recalled, per the Los Angeles Times. “One of us is leaving the building – either him or us.’”

It's disgusting, and even worse, the White House is saying that Israel isn't responsible for the deaths. They're blaming Hamas, apparently, for provoking this response, because I guess it's just another example where they'll always side with the gun owner against the brown guy and cite something about stand your ground.

Remember what a hero the guy who 'stopped' the Texas church killer was according to the current administration? Still, not a word about theguy who stopped, without using a gun, the shooter at Waffle House.

They can't even explain why we needed to move the embassy. The embassy was fine in Tel Aviv along with just about every other nation.

This is intentional to provoke violence. Blood on each and every one of their hands.

One thing I didn't realize, and was touched on in the comment section of an article I was reading, the soviet union's economy is a complete disaster. It's complete shambles. They rely on oil/gas for their country to survive. What will help their country, rising gas prices. What has happened since trump has perverted the office, gas prices have risen. What is the economic impact of pulling out of the Iran deal, rising gas prices. Starting a war with Iran, Syria, Israel, and the use, what will be the economic impact, besides billions spent on the war, rising gas prices. All of these moves are strengthening the soviet's economy. All of these moves have been facilitated by trump.

Unsurprisingly, the federal judge in the DC Manafort case (not the Virginia one that wanted to see the memo to Mueller) dismissed Manafort's motion to dismiss the charges, basically saying that the request could be dismissed for one reason after another after another after another. It looked like the legal equivalent of "Get that s*** outta here" a la Mutombo.

(An interesting citation in the order re: US v Nixon) -->
The Court then found that the dispute over the production of evidence in a criminal
case – sought by a duly appointed official within the Executive Branch within the scope of his
express authority and resisted by the Chief Executive to preserve the confidentiality of his
communications – presented the type of issues that courts are traditionally called upon to resolve.
Nixon, 418 U.S. at 696–97. The fact that both parties were officials within the same branch was
not seen as an impediment to the Court’s exercise of its jurisdiction over the concrete controversy.
Id. And ultimately, the Court ruled that the prosecutor’s demonstrated need for the material could
overcome the President’s claim of privilege, since he had not asserted a need to protect sensitive
military or national security secrets and had only expressed a generalized interest in the
confidentiality of the recordings. Id. at 706–07.

Complete lunacy. As someone who works in IT security, take whatever is being done now and triple it, not cut it.

I have a 2 year degree in Cyber Security. From what I've seen, security seems focused a lot on Management or policy more than hard technical skills.

It just seems like we need a much different approach as well as expanding it.

Canadian doctor shot by Israeli sniper near Gaza border

Quote stolen from tldr bot on Reddit:
A Canadian-Palestinian doctor was shot in the legs by an Israeli sniper and one of his paramedics was killed on the Gaza border Monday as clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli Defence Forces left dozens dead and more than 1,000 wounded.

Dr. Tarek Loubani, an emergency physician from London, Ont., who is also an associate professor at the University of Western Ontario's medical school, joined medical teams on the Gaza border Monday to care for Palestinians who might be injured in demonstrations against the inauguration of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem.

About an hour later, Mr. Abuhassanin was shot by a sniper while providing medical help to protesters north of where Dr. Loubani was shot.

It very much is. A good policy comes from the top down. Security has to be the focus of top management or it will fail.

If the bosses only talk about profits, then those down below will cut corners. This is why upper management should always be held responsible for screw ups at lower levels. They have to set the direction and make sure security is a priority.

You have to dedicate people and money towards it. A lot more than many places are willing to.

Where I work, security is part of the final product. We have peer reviews, security standards and all sorts of other measure in place. While deadlines are important, nothing goes out without a peer review. It doesn't matter how badly something is needed, we don't cut corners on security.

Even then there's always that worry of the one flaw we miss somewhere. I have to block every possible threat vector, while someone breaking in just needs to find one weakness. That's what keeps me awake at night.

It's beginning to look like Cohen shouldn't be worried about the other shoe dropping, but that Avenatti (and of course, federal prosecutors) have a whole damn Foot Locker's worth of shoes.

"When we as people, a free people, go wobbly on the truth – even on what may seem the most trivial of matters – we go wobbly on America... If we do not as Americans confront the crisis of ethics and integrity in our society and among our leaders in both public and private sector – and regrettably at times even the nonprofit sector – then American democracy as we know it is entering its twilight years."
- Rex Tillerson at the Virginia Military Institute graduation.
