lol at Trumpers upset about Trevor Noah hosting the Battlefield V reveal. Talk about snowflakes. Almost as good as their meltdown over Far Cry 5.

trump administration is deleting files related to cohen financial records, highly suspicious money movements from late last year to early this year “Suspicious activity report”? That’s why his bank records were leaked by a whistleblower.

Michael Cohen reportedly offered Qatar access to the Trump administration for $1 million

President Donald Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen reportedly offered Qatar advice and access to the Trump administration in late 2016 in exchange for at least $1 million.

During a meeting in December 2016, Michael Cohen met with the former head of the Qatar Investment Authority, Ahmed al-Rumaihi, to discuss potential Qatari financial backing for US infrastructure. Al-Rumaihi told The Intercept in a series of interviews that Cohen suggested Qatar would invest in factories in Midwestern towns, a move that would "revitalize the city" and would be great PR for Qatar's image on the American stage.

Al-Rumaihi said Cohen offered to put Qatar in contact with "partners" who would put in "know-how," if Qatar invested billions into the projects. Rumaihi said when he asked Cohen for specifics on more important projects that Qatar could invest in, Cohen allegedly replied that he would first need $1 million in order to consult as part of his fee.

Al-Rumaihi told the Intercept that ultimately Qatar declined Cohen's offer, and never paid him the money. Cohen's recently revealed financial records confirm that no payment was made by al-Rumaihi or any companies connected to him.

Here's another interesting story that I'm admittedly only a few paragraphs into, but it explains that the financial stuff released so far is from a leaked SAR (as suspected) and that the whistleblower leaked it because the two other SARs that the bank had submitted are not available from the federal database, which is exceptionally unusual.

You had to know a Republican candidate would try to start this as some point.

“Most receiving food stamps work, or are disabled,” a user commented on the poll post. “Some are elderly.”

The ones who are disabled and can’t work…why are we required to keep them?” the Chrisforgov account responded. “Sorry but euthanasia is cheaper and doesn’t make everyone a slave to the Government [sic].

Defending his now-deleted comments, the account admin mused as to why American taxpayers should “have to keep up people who cannot contribute to society any longer?”

“Obviously, I’m not saying the Government [sic] should put these people down,” the Chrisforgov account wrote, contradicting its earlier statement. “I’m just saying that we shouldn’t keep them up.”

“If they can take care of themselves without Government assistance, great,” the comment continued. “If not, let them starve and die. Easy as that.”

WTF? It had to have been hacked. There's no way anybody would say that, even for a trumpkin.

It's just good, sound Christian principles. "Blessed are the rich, for they shall inherit the earth from their parents. Blessed are the poor and infirm... nah, f*** 'em."

Bruh you can get a free canvas tote bag for subscribing! I've thought about getting a sub to the New Yorker (big fan of Farrow's) but I already have Washington Post and NY Times. Wapo is free or insanely cheap with Prime though hmm

This guy wanted the attention and he got it. He will be a hero of the alt right racists.

Can't wait to see his show on Fox News

I'm always finding myself opening Edge to the "no document" startup and looking there for stories because MSN often will run stories from the WaPo/NYT verbatim, which means I don't have to click through and use up one of the free articles per month.

But I think the real worry for Trump et al is precisely that this was referred to SDNY as not being part of the SC's mandate. If they're investigating Russia's meddling, and they have payments funneled through a company affiliated with the Russian oligarch that's now sanctioned, and those happened this soon after the election, they must be extremely tight about what they consider to be election related. And if they're that tight and they're keeping the Manafort case, my wild speculation is they have another sealed indictment that is going to make everything else look like jaywalking.

I've had some more thoughts on this recently.

I don't know the specifics, but I kind of think that maybe the Cohen matter was referred to the SDNY not because it wasn't directly election related, but perhaps because it may have been. Strongly. Entertain me.

Let's say you're Mueller, and you have information from Cohen's emails surveilled prior to the referral, or from the SAR report, and it shows a clear, direct link between money from Russia to Cohen to the campaign or Trump himself, or any other information of that nature. Now, once the raid comes out, Trump goes ballistic and fires Rosenstein and going down until he finds someone to fire Mueller, do we know if the investigation will go on, and specifically will they pursue this specific line? I think there are enough good men and women in the investigations that it would still eventually come out, but who knows? Why risk the pursuit of justice to the whims of a man who, let's not forget, who tried (and failed) to get the trademark to the phrase "You're fired"?

So instead, let's say you refer the case to the SDNY, where the current US Attorney has not yet been nominated and confirmed, but is just the acting attorney, because Trump fired Preet Bhara, who is also pretty damn awesome. (The acting atty, incidentally, recused himself from the Cohen investigation). That pretty much shields it from Trump's direct fire, and I can't imagine that they're going to feel too compelled to treat Trump with kid gloves.

Now we find out two of the three SARs regarding Cohen aren't even available in the database used by law enforcement. Strange. Getting those removed as a cover up I imagine would be damn near impossible. But if, say, you're Mueller, and you saw something in those SARS that goes from smoking gun to fire, you'd want to make sure nobody else "stumbles" on it -- and it's got to be more than the Columbus Nova link, which was in the SAR that could still be found.

I have a strange feeling that the SDNY has absolute proof that Cohen (at minimum) collaborated with Russia. I have a feeling that Rosenstein knows this now as well and is at peace that even if he gets fired, the truth will out. I think Cohen's recordings are going to be as weighty in history as the Watergate tapes. It would also explain why there hasn't been an indictment yet - certainly not an unsealed one.

They had hinted on this on, I think, CNN last night.
