Dude, a lot of these coal miners are dumb as f*** and deserve whatever comes their way. Seriously, they do not want help, they want to mine coal. They couldn't give two s***s about their health, otherwise they would not have voted for f***ing trump/gop religiously.
I mean, we could be the leading country is renewable energy and coal miners could have to been retrained to manufacture solar panels and what not, but they don't want retraining. There are programs in place to retain them. Coal miners don't want them.

Washington (CNN)Donald Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen has signaled to friends that he is "willing to give" investigators information on the President if that's what they are looking for, and is planning on hiring a new lawyer to handle a possible indictment from federal prosecutors.
"He knows a lot of things about the President and he's not averse to talking in the right situation," one of Cohen's New York friends who is in touch with him told CNN. "If they want information on Trump, he's willing to give it."
Cohen is planning to hire Guy Petrillo, a former chief of the criminal division of the US attorney's office in Manhattan and an experienced trial lawyer, a source familiar confirmed. The source said all the paperwork and retainer may not have been finalized just yet.

Whats really sad is that Trump and his people have played right into the hands of hostile foreign governments and muslim extremists by showing the sentiment of America being morally bankrupt and run by politicians who will kill and destroy anyone and anything to further their own wealth and goals to be all too true.
The actions of these people will set the worlds opinion and relations with the USA back decades.

This is the problem - both sides have used immigration and border security as a wedge issue (especially the alt right). While reasonable people from both sides could easily sit down and hammer out some reasonable solutions to the problems, that doesn't happen because that's not what the politicians want.
Politicians don't want to fix problems, they want to use them for political gain. This doesn't need to be such a divisive issue. We're not talking abortion here, there's tons of middle ground and room for compromise.
The alt right doesn't want compromise though, they want to spread racism, hate and win votes with them. They literally caused the problem to get worse on purpose in order to draw more attention to it. Sadly most people fall for it.
This is the sad truth of what Trump has created in this country. The other big problem is that the left sort of falls for it by allowing themselves to be pushed into the more extreme left position just to counter Trump.
I'll never get it honestly. I look at that list of "againsts" and none of those anger me, make me afraid, feel superior/lesser, etc. It really is something just how much of a difference there can be in one's beliefs.
There's a lot too it. Ignorance, hate, mental issues. People are often just insecure in their own beliefs. I mean the person with 25 "Jesus Saves" bumper stickers on the back of their car isn't trying to convince you, but themselves.
It also comes down to the way many right groups have manipulated people over the years too. They purposely feed racism and hate to use as a distraction. I mean, how else are they going to sell the poor, rural white people on massive tax cuts for the ultra wealthy?
"Immigrants take your low paying jobs, welfare, and health care. We'd give you more if only we could do something about those immigrants". That's what they've been selling people for years, Trump just came in and did it more blatently.
I live in western New York State right by the Canadian border and I still hear people talking about Latino immigrants stealing jobs. It is laughable way up here. The only people we have crossing the border are drunken Maple Leaf hockey fans.
