Talking with Trump supporters on here would be interesting but unfortunately the only ones who claim to be for him are posters like Val who can't go 5 minutes without trolling so who knows what he really thinks.
I've yet to hear a rationale, fact based argument by anybody that voted for trump, in person or online. I don't think they exist.
My reasons for wanting him as our President would offend probably 75% of this forum so I cannot share.
I wasn't neutral at all as a mod there, I made my opinions loud and clear. Only banned folks for extreme rule breaking no matter what "side" they were on.
Sure I'm a newcomer here, but I haven't seen any evidence of mods banning over political preference. Everyone seems very free to speak their mind, which is awesome.
He's banned from political threads. He refuses to engage in discussions and ignores dialogue. He's a troll. This was after dozens and dozens of warnings.
He would just come in, post a link, offer no dialogue when engaged, and ignore people quoting him.
Yeah, drive-by posting gets old pretty fast. It's like a mosquito that keeps biting you and flying away before you can swat it.
This forum has become very hostile against those who don't agree with Plainview's ideology. A sesspool of like-minded individuals trolling in Plainview's favour. That is honestly what changed here. I'm not like this not other forums. It's just on this sesspool.
They cite all off their material and sources. You just don't know anything about how the news works. And why you avoid attempting to disprove it.

I find it strange when someone complains about the overall community here, then still post here. If this place is so bad then why continue to come here? I like the community here for the most part.
Val I like you so don't take this personally, we can disagree on this and not be angry at each other but a President isn't a God and doesn't deserve respect when he shows none to people with whom he disagrees. I didn't like him before he announced he was running for President, I knew he was a lying sack of crap decades ago and he has only gotten worse with age. He has no idea what he's doing, he picks people for top positions who aren't the least bit qualified and he and his family are benefitting financially because of his position. There is literally nothing about this man that is redeeming IMO, he is an arrogant liar and I know some people find that arrogance and lack of a filter between the brain and mouth appealing because so often all we hear is PC BS from politicians but he does not behave in the least like someone who wants to be respected let alone deserves it.

I honestly have yet to find a genuine Trump supporter who I can have a rational, fact based conversation with. The closest I come is people who warped by false narratives. Those discussions are impossible, because how can you debate when you can't even agree on what reality is? I live in Buffalo, New York (10 minutes from the Canadian border) and I have friends who tell me about all the problems with Mexicans. I have no doubt states on the southern borders have issues, but up here? Where are any of these Latinos ffs??
Sorry but they want to believe what they are told because of deep seeded racism. Racism never went away, people just learned to STFU about it around others. Now Trump has blasted it back up to the surface.
"News" agencies like Breitbart spin a narrative about the illegal immigrant threat being "just like ISIS". Google "breitbart isis mexico" and see what pops up. Suddenly Mexicans are now islamic extremists (since where are very, very few muslims in the US to even constitute much of a threat).
I hope every middle class American who voted Trump loses their healthcare and enjoys watching the rich get richer. I will be there to say "I told you so"

I don't want them to lose coverage, I don't want anyone to but hopefully the fact that he hasn't done a thing to actually try to protect things like Medicaid after promising not to cut them and flat out saying he was the only republican that wouldn't will stand out to those people. One of the saddest things about this to me is that the people who really believe in him and stick up for him no matter what would not get the same devotion from him if the roles were reversed. He'd be the first one to jump on the pile and talk about how stupid the person was and how he could do it so much better than them etc.
I respect Kasich, he seems like the kind of Republican that could not only have won the electoral college but the popular vote as well. He's the kind of Republican the country needs more of in office, someone who is willing to actually work with the other side and doesn't make a ton of outrageous yet hollow statements about people he's running against.
Sadly I think it is going to take something that drastic to shake people out of their brainwashing.
