The End of the World: A Political Thread. A New Hope coming soon!

I'll have to give the place a 2nd chance maybe. The whole idea rubs me the wrong way though. Someone disagrees with something I say, so instead of replying and offering a counter point, they just downvote. I know most subs have their own mods so maybe some are run better than the others.

It just seems to be the opposite of open discussion.

I don't engage in any conversations on there. From the months that I've been following it, I'm impressed with much of the dialogue. Sure, some are the typical responses we make here, "I'm complete surprised said no one ever," but there's a wealth of information to be had. The_donald is a cesspool.

I've never been in the_donald. The_meuller is a parody of that and mostly for memes and what not, while RussiaLago is more legit and centered around the investigation. Politics is good but it's still definitely left leaning. Maybe News is more bipartisan. Otherwise besides t_d the conspiracy subbreddit is probably another majority conservative subbreddit.

It's left leaning as in reporting reality and newsworthy stuff.

He correctly said he had nothing to do with the robocall, but this is from the "candidates" website..... Was the call that far off from his beliefs?

“I hope all of you ask yourselves why powerful JEWS are primarily behind the push of multiculturalism, diversity and inclusiveness throughout the United States, Europe and other once predominantly white nations of the world and WHY many of our politicians allowing them to do so has led to rape and crime epidemics in its aftermath.”

Stormy Daniels Arrested at Ohio Strip Club for Touching Undercover Officers

She was charged with three counts of misdemeanor sex offenses, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. She was released from the Jackson Pike jail in Columbus on Thursday after posting $6,054 cash bail.

The charges “stem from an allegation that while performing, she engaged in touching with customers who turned out to be undercover vice officers,” Ms. Clifford’s lawyer, Michael J. Avenatti, said in a telephone interview. Mr. Avenatti said that Ms. Clifford would plead not guilty.

“So there are undercover vice officers that came to the club for the purpose of trying to get her to touch them so that they could then arrest her, which is ludicrous,” Mr. Avenatti said.

“My understanding is that a number of undercover officers were female, which was not unusual to my client because a huge number of women are turning out to see her shows,” he said. “And a couple of officers asked her to allow them to place their face in between her breasts.”

“This was a setup & politically motivated,” Mr. Avenatti said on Twitter. “It reeks of desperation. We will fight all bogus charges.”

In Ohio, it is illegal for an employee who is “nude or seminude” at a sexually oriented business to be touched by a patron or to touch a patron, with the exception of an immediate family member. Depending on what body part is touched, the charge can be a first- or fourth-degree misdemeanor.
Not mentioned in this article, is that in the 11 years this law was put into place, it has not once been used. What a coincidence then that the first time it is used is on Stormy Daniels.

And it was because people were touching her arm, grabbing her hand, putting their arms around her to take pictures.

Notice how they vilify her for going against Trump? As if she "lured" him or forced him to cheat on his wife. She also gets so many hate tweets calling her all sorts of horrible things. Meanwhile Trump can do whatever he wants and his supporters never, ever question him.

This social expirment has gone on long enough. Elon, can you hit the rewind button?

trump came out for an unschedule conference. He boasted that he cut a deal with the rest of the NATO countries and, "they have now substantially upped their commitment." Except, the didn't. They're contributing up to 2% of GDP by 2024. An agreement that was made when Obama was president in 2014.

Mueller asks court for 100 more blank subpoenas ahead of Manafort trial
Special counsel Robert Mueller is asking a federal court in Virginia for 100 blank subpoenas in the case against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.
The request was made in a filing on Wednesday. The subpoenas would require their recipients to testify in U.S. District Court in Alexandria on July 25, when Manafort's trial in Virginia is set to begin.
No further information was provided in the filing, and a spokesman for the special counsel declined to comment on the request.
The request comes roughly a month after Mueller filed a request for 150 blank subpoenas.
Manafort is facing numerous charges, including tax evasion, bank fraud and failing to report foreign bank accounts. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has sought to delay the trial and move the venue to Roanoke from Alexandria.
Manafort has been held in the Northern Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw, Va., since last month, when a federal judge in Washington, where he is facing separate charges, revoked his bail in response to new charges that the former Trump campaign chair sought to sway the testimony of two witnesses in his trial.
Mueller's team is investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, as well as any other alleged crimes that may arise during the course of the probe.

The Republicans trying to destroy the FBI agent who sent those anti-Trump texts.

His response is very good.

Russian Influence Campaign Sought To Exploit Americans' Trust In Local News

Russia's information attack against the United States during the 2016 election cycle sought to take advantage of the greater trust that Americans tend to place in local news.

The information operatives who worked out of the Internet Research Agency in St. Petersburg not only sought to pose as American social media users or spread false information from purported news sources, according to new details. They also created a number of Twitter accounts that posed as sources for Americans' hometown headlines.

The Internet Research Agency-linked account was created in May 2014, and for years it just posted local headlines, accumulating some 19,000 followers by July of 2016.

Another twist: These accounts apparently never spread misinformation. In fact, they posted real local news, serving as sleeper accounts building trust and readership for some future, unforeseen effort.

"They set them up for a reason. And if at any given moment they wanted to operationalize this network of what seemed to be local American news handles, they can significantly influence the narrative on a breaking news story," Schafer told NPR. "But now instead of just showing up online and flooding it with news sites, they have these accounts with two years of credible history."

Twitter caught these Internet Research Agency accounts in the act and suspended them.

He ripped the deal up, then glued it back together.
