The forest (holy smokes this game man!)

Nice, another survival horror. What's the estimated launch date?

Seems like there's a lot of survival horrors released this year.

Damn! That looks like it would be great on OR. Makes me want another Condemned game....still one of my all-time favorite launch titles.

Condemned was a awesome launch title. I loved the atmosphere in that game, and the graphics were top notch too, really helped nail the tone of the game. I'd love another in the series, though more in the vein of Condemned 1 and not the sequel.

Too many open work horror games coming out now as "early access". This game is like Rust, but with monsters.

Did read a bit more about the game and came over some screenshots: (screenshots from 2nd trailer)

I remember seeing one of the screenshots before, this is one of the best looking games I have seen that uses the unity game engine.

The Forest’s early access date pushed back by a week

You won’t be able to survive The Forest until May 30 it turns out, with developers Endnight Games delaying the early access by a week.
The move comes quite suddenly and no reason has been given, but developer Ben Falcone commented on Twitter that he “wasn’t concerned about sales”, and “my only concern is releasing a great game”.

Yeah, I consider it an adult evolution of minecraft. There is gathering of resources, crafting, hunting, exploring, building, setting traps and survival at night . I love minecraft and survival horror games, so this plus my rift is going to be insane. This game has a story that you can discover as well and the AI is supposed to be pretty advanced. Read some more into it, it should be a really good and unique pc experience.

I don't think I would like horror games on a virtual reality headset. I think that would stress the bejeebus out of me, jumping at everything.

I'd love a more relaxed virtual reality world to wander around and explore, though. That would be fun.

I think I'd probably only be able to handle 45 mins - 1 hour at a time max if the game were scary enough.

There is going to be a peace mode too FYI.

I was hoping the ps4 version wouldn't get delayed, another game pushed into the "sometime in 2016"

Cool trailer though, and some of the alpha impressions are simply amazing.

I don't know of many console games like this.

Most horror games are first person nowdays or atleast the ones I know. The mine craft idea is unnessary for a horror game. Long story short.

So basically you don't have any examples of something similar even though its just "another survival horror"? I can say that about any game. Oh, that Horizon game "just another 3rd person rpg" oh that Street Fighter 5 game "just another fighter"

Why is the crafting "unnecessary" for a survival game? Why is it unnecessary to build things and use your environment when your stranded alone in a forest? Seems like in minecraft you do it just for the hell of it, here its actually about survival. Hm. Can you set traps, skin animals and use their fur in minecraft and do you have to maintain your energy levels with food in minecraft? Seems pretty different. Ok its an fps, you got me there, what a damn clone! You can name elements from any game and break them down into pieces of other games.

Still waiting for another game example that does this on consoles.

"Another survival horror IN FIRST PERSON". It looks kool for 2 or 3 hours of play and eventully it will get boring/tedious. Most importantly the game isnt scary man. Show me a gameplay video you thought was scary personally. When I play horror games I wanna be mind f*****.

Well that's an opinion of a game you haven't played. "Looks cool for 3 hours" is totally guessing. For me, getting legitimately afraid is difficult with games so I'm more about the survival aspect, which is what this game is about.

This game is "just another horror survival game." There are loads of survival games just like this. You're just gaga for graphics.
