Official Thread The Last Of Us Part 2 Remake Remaster Directors Cut?

Just finished whipping around in the dingy boat. That was fun. But I sure did piss off Jesse. Why am I such a bitch, I should be helping find Tommy!

I had no idea I would be playing as Abby, especially thing long. Not sure how I feel about it. But it seems they want me to have a connection with her so that I think she is a good guy too.

My two cents:

Game looks and plays great, but narratively it falters and drags out too long. It is also very linear for the most part with only a few areas that open up to let you explore.

I also hated Abby and Ellie by the end, so I didn’t really enjoy moving their stories along.

I reached the farm where Dina and Ellie will be living happily ever after, corralled the sheep or goats and had she had a nightmare. I was like, FINALLY the game is over. But then NOPE, Tommy's back and I need to go to Santa Barbara! Now the game is just getting too long in the tooth storywise, especially when it goes back and forth in time throughout the game. THEN it takes me all the way back to the bar where Dina and Ellie danced and Ellie lost her s*** with Joel. There is a lot of walking in this game, and combat is average. And now I am looking at the round tall building where Abby is so that I can FINALLY FINALLY kill her (I assume).....(even though I was Abby trying to kill Ellie?!?!). I will be happy when this game is over.

Pros:
  1. Stellar cast and acting
  2. Animations are top notch (especially at the workbenches when customizing weapons)
  3. Attention to details are second to none
  4. Game difficulty options
  5. Accessibility options
  6. Much of the game can be completed stealth
Cons:
  • Story timeline is too convoluted.
  • Too much walking, sprint restricted during much of that.
  • Combat is weak. I know it's not an RPG nor a shooter, but this is the worst part of the game.
  • Actual story feels forced. I was never connected to any characters this time, like I was in TLOU1.
  • Lack of ammo. I opened every drawer and walked nearly everywhere to gather what I could. I mean, I survived of course. But many times my weapons were empty and I do a lot of headshots.
  • Graphics and textures can be a mixed bag of inconsistency.
I know the ending won't change my feeling of the game (I will finish it up tonight), so I am giving this one a 7/10. I do like TLOU1 more.
