I mean, hardly trustworthy but we also all knew it was coming eventually anyways. Right?
I loved Part 2. Even if it didn’t have the feel good story everybody wanted. It was an ugly game. I would hesitate to even call it a fun game, but it was one of those cinematic experiences that you see once or twice per gen in this medium.
I think a Part 3 may give people the closure on the characters and story that they want.

I feel like someone has made a thread for this already, maybe DriedMangoes , I could be wrong. But then again try searching “the last of us” here…you’ll get nothing unless you add more and even then you won’t get all the results. Apparently I made one about the remake before the second one I posted lol

It's so far out I don't see this coming out until maybe 2026/2027 end of PS5 cycle almost
Cross gen? So it’ll be like BotW and presumably Elderscrolls six…. next gen first party exclusive launch titles will bring on the fire!
It’s still kinda disappointing that some first party teams won’t get to make at least two games only for current gen.

So, you’re saying, they should split the team into more and hire more to make up what they lost to continue on the safe bets?
Why would you even bother with part 3 if your only leading character isn't the lead character. Makes no sense.
This is either...
1. Made up BS.
2. A spin-off and not actually part 3.
3. A story line aspect for Factions.
Even if its not related to the MP game nothing about the casting really suggests Ellie isn't the main character. Pretty much no chance she isn't pivotal to the plot and you don't play her a good portion of the game.
