The Order: 1886 (Official Thread)

I'll be getting this but I'm still waiting for a review or two.

Nice of Jimmy to bring out an old topic from months back -_-
like I stated below.
Never said anything. IMO the new build lighting and character model of the female character in particular looks more realistic. Just keep your eyes on her from old to new build in my pic. You also see her shadow in new pic where the old one she doesn't really have one.

Nice. You just owned them.

How so? by quoting a post of his from a totally different thread? BTW what made you like his "hmmm" comment with the pic I wonder? it's because you thought he was saying something negative yourself.

Because I knew it would ruffle your feathers :)

Jimmy posted that message after I gave proof of the new build looking better than old.

If I misunderstood his intent that's my mistake but posting a comparison pic that was originally intended by the person who made it (months ago) to claim there was some kind of downgrade and then saying nothing but "hmmm" does kind of lead people to believe something negative is being said.

Guess I'll be putting this game on hold until I've seen reviews. I'm just not to keen on QT games.

I can't wait to play it. The game is going to be great. Better than anything else that's out right now anyway.
Guy in the vid appears to disagree with you.

But then again, since you've played enough of it to know it's Great........ He may be wrong.

If I enjoyed the same games everyone else enjoyed I'd enjoy a lot of s*** games. Glad I can form my own opinions on what game appeals to me and not an idiot online.

I don't think the guy is an idiot for pointing out what most of us expected.

Having said that, I have enjoyed beautiful looking but average games before. Ryse for example.

It's one guy's opinion. But it's not an unexpected one.

That video is kind of dumb. Only thing I hate in action games is the stealth BS they add and you fail when seen. I'm playing an action game or even a FPS I don't want to do any stealth BS. Damn sure don't want to do it and you fail when seen. Far as the QT hmm no s*** they've not tried to hide it will have a lot of them.

Bullet sounds hmm call me crazy but you won't hear a bullet going into a body all you're going to hear is the guns going off. On the bugs hmm well I'll wait till the finished game is out. I'm not going to hold the failures of other games and judge this one maybe it will have bugs maybe not. The guy was being nick picky for the sake of being nick picky. Got to get them views I guess.

What I'm skeptical of is whether we'll be really behind the controls of the character at least 50% of the time or not. It seems to me that this game is throwing most of your time watching and pressing a timed single button as opposed to running around and fighting like in Gears of War. The graphics may look really good, but how much of that glare is watching the cut-scenes/QTEs as opposed to you moving around and fighting with the joystick. I'm going to really quantify this in my tech analysis.

I don't have to play it to know that i'm going to like it. You guys that rely on IGN and Metacritic or some random Joe's video review to decide whether a game is good or not instead of just trying the game yourself are lost. I know what i like in a game and The Order: 1886 looks like it's going to deliver for me. If it doesn't, i'll be the first to let you know.

Not pre-ordering but if Redbox gets it I'll definitely rent it and if I like it I'll try to find it cheap and/or used somewhere.

Day 1 blind purchase? Aren't you a huge fan of moustache and blimp rides?

I have to admit, the setting for this game is really cool. The things I've read about the story sounds cool. The presentation is beyond anything I have seen on any platform. Now I just have to wait and see if the game is fun or not.

I'll be holding off on the pre order for this. I want to get some impressions first.

Looks like it is averaging 4-5 hours to finish

@PNF4LYFE: As the Great Don @fcruzsierra pointed out.... 4:52 start to finish for the Order... I wonder how much QTE/cutscenes http://t.co/zv0O819q1j

oh hell no, 5 hour campaign with no multiplayer, if that's true its rent all the way.

Yeah, that can't be good. Need to see another source verifying that, though. I don't know if I can trust the Great Don.

The game looks great. I'm not getting a PS4 until mid-late in the year, so hopefully it'll be discounted by then.

If there's no multiplayer element to this, I'd just wait for it to be cheaper. At least, don't pre-order it and let a day go by to see initial reactions.

5 hours to finish? What the f***. Need another source to confirm first like Andy said.

Yep,same here...at 70 bucks before tax up here in Canada,I just cant, even if the game will be amazing...

There's a trophy list that shows the amount of time that elapses between getting the first trophy to completing the game.

There is no way to know how much time elapses between the start of the game and obtaining the first trophy. The amount of time that elapsed between start of the game to first trophy could have been 10 minutes or it could have been 5 hours. There's no way to know. The 5 hour completion time is FAKE.

Reliable source from shinobi602: "8-10 hours [normally], 10-12 if you like to take your time, take in the sights and a explore a bit. Difficulty will also change things around."

Stop posting baseless disinfo from lying and malicious fanboy waste like timdog and crapgamer. It's bad enough you flood the forum with copypasted trash from misterxmedia's blog.

Impressions of the Playstation Experience The Order demo were much better than the earlier 5 minute demo. Impressions from people who've played the final or near-final game are good so far, it plays a lot like Gears of War. Fanboys and no-name blogs are still clinging to those outdated old impressions out of blind hatred or clickbaiting.

Of course a Sony exclusive game being flooded with disinfo and FUD is normal.

plays like Gears you say ? :)

Hated everything about this game until I saw the last trailer. If the story and gunplay can come close to Gears Sony will have a hit no doubt.

Right. So a couple people that have played and finished the game don't really matter?
I'm not saying it's a bad game, because I haven't actually played it. And I'm guessing these guys are probably high-level gamers who can fly through games, so 4-5 hours is probably not normal.
But people should know what to potentially expect. So far everything I've seen makes it look like the PS4's version of Ryse: cinematically/graphically beautiful, slower combat, shorter, and with plenty of QTEs.
And since your probably won't pay any attention to any of this, then I'll just put this here....from Eurogamer, from the PS Experience demo....and his impressions are exactly my concerns (minus the bugs, which I'm sure will be addressed). And again, I expect the Order to be good, but I was hoping for great, and based off of the info so far, I'm staying hopeful but realistic:
