Do you hit a lot of animals up there? I don't think I've ever seen a truck with those guard things on it around these parts, and we have major deer issues.

I haven't hit one here surprisingly, though I've come close many times. If I drive to Escanaba during the Fall deer season, I will probably hit one.

I did run down a deer in Pennsylvania once when in another long haul job. It was just a Doe that got confused in a construction zone. It suddenly jump over a barrier and went under the bumper.

It really did no actual damage, but the deer exploded across my rear axles leaving a horrible stinky, bloody, chunky, mess and blood on my trailer.

I've also hit several random small animals. Not much I can do especially when I see them at the last minute when it's dark.

When I was a teenager, I thought that the older you get, the more rationale you become, stop believing in "fairlytales". But I was wrong. The older one get, the better one are at convicing themselves ( & others) that the "fairytales" they believed are true.

I can only imagine. I've seen the aftermath of many deer apparently slaughter by trucks along the roads around here.

What’s up with Pizza Hut’s online pricing?

I ordered a $7.99 2- topping pizza and first of all they charged me for mushrooms on a 2 topping pizza. I may be not good at math, but pepperoni + mushrooms = two toppings. Then on top of that, there was a mysterious $7 charge on top of the $7.99 price. Add in a $3.99 delivery fee + $1.39 tax and suddenly my $7.99 pizza was just shy of $20. WTF?

Delivery has gotten expensive. I just pick up from a local place now the chains aren't worth the delivery price anymore.

Also I think pizza hut has a min of 12 bucks so they probably charged you extra.

I wanna beat the hell out of people on eBay selling used items as brand new.

Here are my favorite excuses:

The item isn't sealed because they wanted to make sure the contents were inside before selling it.
They bought it that way.
The game is newly released, so it's still brand new even if they played it.

Probably used, but I remember doing just that when I worked selling home electronics. Usually when I felt the customer might try to scam us or if customer had come from far away. We had problems with people coming back saying the product was missing but we knew it was in the box when selling it (you could feel the weight).

One reason I seldom visit social media is NOT having to see how self-obsessed & superficial people are. After a while, I realized people are NOT interested to hear REAL comments on what they post, other than say only positive things. I guess that's why there is no dislike for facebook or twitter.

I understand generally its taboo to make negative remarks on someone photos, & people. But surely if you post some picture of a landcape (without people) or some article, or an opinion, you will want people to give their own opinions right, even if it is not in line with you? WRONG.

I got attacked by the most ridiculous of things. Daring to criticized a photo of a landscape. By criticizing, I just said, the ratio of sky & land can be improved. I got the mob mentality, telling me how I was wrong & I don't know my s*** etc like I attacked their mother-in-law. So I learned my lesson. If you have nothing POSITIVE to say, shut up. Just click "like" & move on.

I recently (july) started a twitter account for purely game dev related stuff, so I thought artists & game devs can't be that superficial right. Surely when they post their works, they want constructive feedback right. WRONG again.

Today, I have 1 artist that literally said in her tweet, in which I made a crazy remark "At least 5 things don't make sense, but who cares, it looks great". I know, I am so offensive....

.She said (along the lines) ,."Don't give negative opinions (positive ones are okay lol) on my artwork, unless I ask for your opinion! Jesus, what type of world we lived in. Everyone wins a trophy generation.

Guess I need to play along again.

If non professional (photographer, journalist etc.) at what they post I don't really see the need to give criticism... if I take a picture of a sunset just for showing how good time I have, I'd think it strange if someone told me how I should take the picture next time for better results... not that I'd get mad, but it seems strange considering I didn't take the pic to show my photography skills.
I do think people should be open to criticism if the purpose of the post is to show an opinion or handiwork of a craft though.
But yes, social media is heaven for narcissists and they usually don't take kindly to critism. Even YouTube is full of them, kids saying how you should live and aim for the stars to be all you can be, like them, and how they would kill themselves before they get a corporate desk job, but looking at what they really do and see that they just put up vlogs doing what they like; workout, gaming etc.

It was supposed to be a professional photo taken on a Photographic trip to NewZealand or something.

I am not talking about holiday shot obviously. I will not make comments on holiday shots, or random photos. That will be insensitive, & justified the outrage.

Talking about YOutube. There are people who can be successful on youtube that laterally talk s*** on video, or play video game. I have no problem with their success. But for every success story, there are many that failed. I wanted to be a rock star when I was young. But I have the common sense to study because I know the odds were slim.

Many people have no sense of reality.

I don't visit social media sites because I don't have any friends and I just don't like humans very much.

Haven't ordered pizza in a while but that sounds like a error just based on the fact they charged you for the mushrooms.

What I can't stand on youtube are people who do reactions and ONLY reactions and set up a patreon for their viewers to support them. There are reaction chanels I like (Normies, Blind Wave, Beyond the Trailer) but they actually make skits, podcasts and do a lot of fan interaction etc but there are so many that do nothing but watch a video then say "like, comment, subscribe" and then take off. I know they edit the vids and all of that but it just seems like they do the bare minimum and then turn around and call themselves creators and ask people for donations on top of the money they get from youtube, it drives me crazy lol. Also if I hear one more person say "it's your boy/girl" I'm going to have to punch them in the face! Think up a new F'ng intro! lol

My favorite podcasts I’ve been listening to at work this year that I find entertaining.

The Hollywood Outsider
The Gaming Outsider
Remake This Movie Right

I should expand my podcast listening. Most of it is political right now (Pod Save America, Intercepted, and Stay Tuned with Preet mainly) which probably isn't healthy. I heard an ad for one that talks about true crime that sounded interesting, but required Stitcher Premium. There is a freebie for one called True Crime Garage maybe I'll check out. In fact, I'm biking today so might be a good time to give it a try.

I also like Beyond the Trailer. Grace actually tries to do content or provide industry perspectives.

Yeah she does reactions, in depth movie reviews, movie math, twitch streams 4 times a week where she goes over the days news and answers questions as well as making at least one new video a day (usually) when there is a subject worth covering and she doesn't even have a patreon unlike so many other "creators" who don't do half as much as she does.

Never use a credit card or debit card on vending machines. I was at the mall and got a bottle of water and when I looked at my online banking transactions, that bottle of water was $7.
