Official Thread The Switch Thread

I'm looking forward to seeing if Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is any good.

I'm not a big Nintendo fan, but I'm glad Nintendo finally created the console hybrid I thought about many years ago in a thread I created (Before Wii) at TeamXbox... I always knew if anything was going to put them back on the map, it would be this

Well, the Wii gimmick helped in the short run, but the hybrid console has staying power

Yup, we went from Nintendo needs to go third party(GameCube didn't sell great) to Nintendo is back on track(Wii did amazing) back to Nintendo needs to go third party(Wii U didn't sell great) back to Nintendo is the best again(Switch is beyond a revolution). Think it's safe to say, sit back and relax the dynasty is here to stay.

Im kinda... starting fresh with gaming systems at the moment.

I'm considering a Switch since my son will be 5 in a few months, and he recently cut his gaming teeth on my old OG Wii with Super Mario Bros. Only barely researched the latest Mario, looks incredible, but I kinda wish there was a 2d sidescrolling Mario I could play co-op with him as well.

Switch sounds like a great first choice.

Here is what Val is talking about:

Sony is going to publish games on Nintendo Switch and PC
Uncharted territory for the company.

"This’ll be the first time many of us will have seen Sony games released on competing platforms"

Those are some small-potato games, though.

p.s. I guess MS has already done this, under Minecraft.

Also released Viva pinata and Blue dragon on DS and i think rare made a Diddy Kong racing game when MS owned them.

I know. It's very exciting.
What they are probably going to do is start small. Maybe some old past generation games, or some current gen games that Sony publishes (indie). If it goes well, they will cap it at that. If it doesn't go well, they'll ditch it.

I highly doubt all their big name franchises will come.

I tested out the 'save last 30 seconds of gameplay' feature that also rolled out with this system update. Wish they would allow more than 30 seconds TBH.
Better late then never I guess.

Overall solid update.

This console is so good. Already have 10 games for it. More to come as the year progresses. Might be the best console ever.

Anyone get Fire Emblem Warriors? I enjoyed the Zelda one so I'll get it eventually, but no time for it now.

Really good deal on Nintendo Switch cases:

Hey, no harm no foul. Nintendo and Sony were going to partner back in the day anyway. Consider this a little slice of heaven that otherwise would have been absolute gaming euphoria if it happened. I'm an advocate of competition, but if they did partner up it would have been amazing to see.

Something also tells me, if the headline was Nintendo goes full on third party a particular group of gamers would be more than thrilled. Would give Microsoft even less reason to make games if Mario and Zelda were rocking the green case.
